From the mountain gate's teachings on practice, the scriptures offer the Three Tracks of the Dharma Flower and the methods for propagating the sutra, along with the precepts of the Four Practices of Peaceful Conduct. In the tradition, there are the *Guoqing Hundred Records*, the *Teaching and Practice Records*, and the regulations from India. These texts are clear and complete, leaving nothing lacking. As one gradually immerses in the sacred teachings and accumulates years of lectures and study, the three karmas and four deportments naturally align with the path. Those above and below harmonize, and all beings coexist in peace. However, when the path of teaching declines, most scholars cling to carelessness and habit, drifting into worldly customs. In their actions, eating, and drinking—in rituals of bowing, rising, and yielding—they often stray from proper standards. This is why the Venerable Yunwai from the Yuanjue Temple established his *Rules of Purity*. This work enables the wise to deepen their sincerity and the ignorant to guard against their faults. It sweeps away the corruptions of recent times and creates a lasting framework for a thousand generations—how could we not dedicate ourselves to it?
