### 評點定懷淨土詩䟦

> Preface to the Commentary on Poems of Pure Land Aspiration

右靈峰老人選詩七十七首。其圈點皆在平實切要處點睛。其詩家名句文身妙處概不汙一絲墨痕。此大人作略。堪使行者喫緊得力。無復問橋之誤者也。讀誦之士須具擇法眼以觀之。至於成時評語亦在宗旨上討警䇿。無非欲讀者以深信大願而起妙行耳。不無小補。故不敢廢。成時稽首謹識。

> Old Master Lingfeng selected seventy-seven poems. His markings highlight only the plain, essential, and crucial points, where they strike the eye like the final touch in a painting. As for the exquisite literary beauty or the well-crafted lines—those he leaves without a trace of ink. This is the approach of a great master, helping practitioners to stay on track and avoid falling into confusion. Those who read these poems must cultivate a discerning eye. As for Chengshi’s annotations, they focus on deepening the essential teachings, urging readers to raise profound faith and deep vows, and thereby put them into practice. Since these notes are not without benefit, I dare not discard them. —Chengshi, with reverence, offers this note.
