> Chapter on Dharma Masters

肴饌仕眷反說文具食也飲食也玉篇亦飯食也進也或作󳇺與撰同也。

> Food and drink offerings<note place="inline">The character "肴饌" refers to prepared dishes and beverages. According to ancient dictionaries, it means food and drink, or to present and offer them. It can also be written as "撰," meaning the same.</note>.

穿鑿在各反鏨也玉篇穿木也或作鑿亦同鏨士咸反鏨如鑿也。

> Excavating<note place="inline">In various texts, it refers to cutting into wood; the Yupian defines it as piercing wood. Alternatively written as "鑿," both are equivalent to "鏨" (pronounced shì xián fǎn), which means chiseling.</note>.

如來室說文室實也戶外為堂戶內為室論語云由也升堂矣未入於室是也。

> The Tathagata's chamber<note place="inline">According to the Shuowen dictionary, "chamber" means "solid" or "real"; outside the door is the hall, inside the door is the chamber. As the Analects say, "Zilu has ascended the hall, but has not yet entered the chamber."</note>.

句逗徒󲑁反字書逗遛也說文逗止也方言逗住也或作竇繹也句能竇繹諸理義也。

The Fangyan says "逗" means "to stay." It is sometimes written as "窦" (dòu), which means "to unravel" or "to expound." A sentence can unravel and expound various principles and meanings.</note>.

乾燥騷早反說文亦乾也易曰火就燥也。

𰈎󱾳上情亦反下模博反考聲云𰈎嗼無聲易曰𨶳其戶閴其無人亦靜嘿無人聲經從叔作寂俗字也從水作漠是沙漠字也皆非本正也。
