讎隙上受周反毛詩云讎憎惡我也顧野王云怨憾也又云讎亦仇尚書云撫我則后虐我則讎禮記云父母之讎不與共載天兄弟之讎不反兵交遊之讎不同國說文從言雔聲雔音上同也下卿逆反顧野王云隙所以怨憾也賈注國語云隙釁也說文從𠂤𡭽聲𡭽音同上也。
> Enmity"Enmity" refers to hatred, resentment, or hostility. The ancient text comments: "In the Mao commentary on the Book of Odes, it means to hate or detest me." Gu Yewang said it means resentment and grievance. It is also the same as the word "foe." The Book of Documents says: "If you comfort me, I am your sovereign; if you oppress me, I am your foe." The Book of Rites says: "With a parent's foe, do not live under the same sky; with a brother's foe, do not travel unarmed; with a friend's foe, do not dwell in the same country." According to the Explaining Simple and Analyzing Compound Characters, it follows the radical for 'words' and is pronounced with the same sound as 'shou' (above, reversed from Zhou). The character '隙' (xì) means the gap or rift created by resentment or grievance."
嬈亂上溺鳥反說文嬈煩也苛也一曰擾戲弄也從女堯聲字或作嬲苛音何。
