聞如是：

> This is what I heard:

一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。是時，佛告舍利弗：「我亦倉卒說弟子法，我亦具說，但為難得解者。」舍利弗便白佛：「倉卒說亦可，弟子法具說亦可，弟子法會有解者。」佛便告舍利弗：「當學如是，身識俱外一切思想，我是是我所，憍慢使便不復有，所意解所慧解，自見法自解自知得行，是身識俱外一切思想，我是是我所，憍慢使不復有。若，舍利弗！比丘是身識俱，亦外思想一切我是是我所，憍慢使便不復有，所意解得慧解，見法慧行自見自知求行止。是名為，舍利弗！比丘無所著，漏索盡，至學，度世。我為是故說是言。」從後說絕：

> Once, the Buddha was staying in the Jeta Grove, in Anāthapiṇḍada’s park. At that time, the Buddha said to Shariputra, “I could teach the disciples’ teachings briefly, or I could teach them in full detail—but it is difficult to find someone who truly understands.” Shariputra replied, “Whether you teach briefly or in detail, there will be those who understand.” So the Buddha said to Shariputra, “You should learn this: when awareness is present together with the body, and all external thoughts of ‘I am’ and ‘this is mine’—along with the urge to arrogance—cease to arise, then through understanding and insight, you see the truth for yourself, realize it yourself, and attain the conduct that leads to liberation. When awareness is present together with the body, and all external thoughts of ‘I am’ and ‘this is mine’—along with the urge to arrogance—no longer arise, then through understanding and insight, you see the true nature of things, walk the path of wisdom, know for yourself, and seek to abide in that realization. This, Shariputra, is what it means for a monk to be unattached, to have exhausted the contaminants, to have completed their training, and to have transcended the world. That is why I speak as I do.” He then concluded with a verse.

「度世說不致，　壞欲欲思想，　意不可俱爾，亦除曉睡瞑，　亦還結疑，　觀意除淨，　本起思惟法，　已說度世慧，　亦說壞癡。」

> "The teachings for transcending the world cannot be fully expressed in words. Destroy desire and the thoughts of desire. The mind cannot be grasped all at once. Also dispel drowsiness and sleepiness, And untie the knots of doubt. Observe the mind and purify it. Trace the origin and contemplate the Dharma. Having spoken the wisdom that transcends the world, I have also taught how to destroy ignorance."

佛說如是。

> Thus spoke the Buddha.
