- A monk brought up a case: Xuanjue asked a monk, "What is that sound in the forest?" The monk said, "It's the sound of a turtledove." Xuanjue said, "If you wish to avoid creating karma that leads to the Uninterrupted Hell, do not slander the true Dharma wheel of the Tathagata." The master then asked the monk, "How do you understand this?" The monk said, "From ancient times to the present." The master said, "Not easy to guess." A verse: (因僧舉玄覺問僧林間是什麼聲僧云鵓鳩聲覺云欲得不招無間業莫謗如來正法輪師乃問僧你作麼生會僧云亙古亙今師曰不易卜度頌)
