> Song for Minister Lu Dexian

大道坦然兮殊不用功。殊不用功兮何必研窮。豁虗離礙兮從空背空。不守自性兮雖同不同。百無所依兮自西自東。照體獨立兮滿目清風。廓落大度兮無不包容。全身異類兮觸處皆通。

> The Great Way lies open and clear—yet no effort is needed. No effort is needed—so why strive to fathom it? When the mind is vast and free from obstruction, clinging to emptiness only turns its back on Emptiness. Not holding to any fixed nature, though seeming the same, it is not the same. Leaning on nothing at all, one naturally goes west or east. The illuminating essence stands alone—before the eyes, a refreshing breeze fills the view. Spacious and vast, magnanimous—nothing is left out. The whole body appears in countless forms—wherever it touches, all is open and unobstructed.
