爾時婆須蜜多尊者。自省夙緣。置器出家。遊行諸國。廣作佛事。

> At that time, the venerable Vasumitra reflected on his past connections, set down his worldly possessions, and became a monk. He traveled to various lands, widely performing Buddha's work.

有佛陀難提曰。我今欲與尊者諸義。

師曰。義即不論。論即不義。若擬論義。終非義論。

難提即自悟心。便即敬伏。求師出家。願可濟度。師知傳法時至。付正法眼藏。而說偈言。

> Nanti instantly awakened to his own mind. He then bowed in reverence, seeking to leave home life under the teacher, and begged to be guided across the sea of suffering. The teacher, knowing that the time for transmitting the Dharma had come, bestowed upon him the Treasury of the True Dharma Eye and spoke a gatha:

心同虗空界 示等虗空法證得虗空時 無是無非法
