凡看後解，先置經文於案上，使前後貫穿，庶可尋討。又此本為偶論楞嚴而作，故楞嚴稍詳。然亦止是於大義未明處，眾說不同處，或一段一句一字發其未發，而不復為全部銷釋。至於餘經，僅舉數部，數部之中，僅舉一二條以見大意，庶幾就正於有道。非曰：是己而非人也，有罪我者乎？我知明道而已，不知其他也

> When studying the commentary, first place the sutra text on your desk to connect the passages and explore their meaning. This work was composed as a casual discussion of the Shurangama Sutra, so it addresses that text in slightly more detail. Yet it only clarifies points where the broader meaning is unclear, where various interpretations differ, or where a passage, sentence, or even a single character has not been fully explained—without providing a complete line-by-line analysis of the entire text. As for other sutras, only a few are mentioned, and within those, only one or two points are highlighted to convey the essential meaning. This is simply an attempt to seek correction from those who understand the Way. It is not to claim that I am right and others are wrong. If anyone finds fault with me, so be it. My aim is to illuminate the path—nothing more.
