> Chapter on Universal Enlightenment Bodhisattva

藥病相攻雙去難。 心華開發自家禪。 天真歷歷非修證。日用堂堂豈授傳。 高步丹霄知得計。止啼黃葉信成權。 底時屑屑行泥滓。 可笑蝸牛自涴涎。

> When medicine battles illness, both are hard to let go. The heart's flower blooms—your own inner Zen. Innately clear, it's not attained by practice; In daily life, so vivid—how could it be taught? Walking high in the crimson clouds, you know the way; A yellow leaf to stop a child's cry—skillful means. Why then trudge through the mud, so busy and strained? Laughable—the snail, staining itself with its own slime.
