> On the twenty-eighth day of winter in the Gengzi year, the weather was clear and mild. I went for a walk with the monk

雲麓勝處夙未到。 清行興銳忘崎嶔。 誰無瘦杖少扶力。我與幽人同賞心。 壑津軟綠自宛轉。岸樹老碧長陰森。 溪西乞火煮茶去。 竹裏人家齋磬音。

> To a place of cloud-capped peaks, I had never been before; With light steps and eager heart, I forgot the rugged path. Who would not need a staff for support on such a journey? Yet I, with a kindred spirit, shared this joy in nature's depths. The valley streams, soft and green, wind their own gentle way; The ancient trees along the banks cast deep and lasting shade. West of the stream, I sought fire to brew my tea and rest, While from the bamboo grove, the sound of temple bells arose.
