> Five Ranks

正中偏。 霽碧星河冷浸乾。 半夜木童敲月戶。暗中驚破玉人眠。

> Center in the midst of bias. A clear blue river of stars soaks the heavens, cold. At midnight, the wooden boy knocks on the moon's door. In the dark, startling the jade maiden from her sleep.

偏中正。 海雲依約神山頂。 歸人鬢髮白垂絲。羞對秦臺寒照影。

> Leaning towards the middle, yet upright. By the sea, clouds gather as promised upon the sacred mountain's peak. The returning traveler's hair turns white, hanging like threads. Ashamed to face the cold reflection in the Qin Terrace's mirror.

正中來。 月夜長鯤蛻甲開。 大背摩天振雲羽。翔游鳥道類難該。

> From the center he comes forth. On a moonlit night, the great Kun sheds its scales and opens wide. With a back vast enough to brush the heavens, it shakes its cloud-like wings, Soaring along the bird's path, a kind beyond compare.

兼中至。 覿面不須相忌諱。 風化無傷的意玄。光中有路天然異。

> Within the midst of both, arriving directly. Face to face, no need for caution or avoidance. The wind's influence, unharmed, holds profound meaning. Within the light, a path emerges, naturally distinct.

兼中到。 斗柄橫斜天未曉。 鶴夢初醒露氣寒。舊巢飛出雲松倒。

> Arriving at the midpoint. The Dipper's handle slants, the sky not yet bright. The crane's dream just awakens, dew's chill in the air. From the old nest, it flies—cloud-pines topple.
