### 淨樂室銘

> Inscription of the Pure Joy Chamber

色見聲求。 取道未正。 自得之淵。 常樂我淨。其淨者常。 其樂者我。 是二相資。 如薪與火。我樂無窮。 淨常無終。 湛存象外。 智照環中。環中自虛。 非有非無。 密運靈機。 妙轉玄樞。玄樞機轉。 本光瑞現。 心緣未萌。 言像何辨。其辨者誰。 了了自知。 圓該家慧。 不涉思惟。思惟不涉。 蘆花照雪。 一段光明。 廓然瑩徹。瑩徹無方。 初不覆藏。 乘時則出。 涉化則昌。涉化隨宜。 淨樂不移。 空含海印。 恰恰無虧。無虧之功。 內外沖融。 法法絕待。 門門虛通。虛通之門。 游戲之徑。 脫落根塵。 蘆灑眺聽。眺聽夤緣。 手眼千千。 彼亡勤勤。 我常綿綿。綿綿之妙。 未痕眹兆。 淨中之樂。 默中之照。默照之家。 淨樂之室。 居安忘勞。 去華取實。取實之銘。 無得而言。 善哉摩詰。 入不二門。

> When you seek the Way through sight and sound, The path you find is not the true one. The deep, self-attained source within— Is constant bliss, the pure self, none other. That which is pure, is constant; That which is blissful, is the self. These two, they support each other, Like fuel and fire combined. My bliss is endless, My purity and constancy have no end. Still and clear, beyond all forms, Wisdom shines in the center of all. The center is naturally empty, Neither existing nor non-existing. Subtly, the spiritual mechanism operates, Miraculously turning the mysterious pivot. The mysterious pivot, the mechanism turns, The original light appears in auspicious signs. Before thoughts arise in the mind, How can words or forms be distinguished? Who is it that distinguishes? Clearly known by itself. Universal innate wisdom— It does not involve reasoning. Not involved in reasoning, Like reeds reflecting snow. A single ray of light, Vast, clear, and sparkling. Sparkling, without fixed direction, Originally, nothing is hidden. It emerges when the time is right, And flourishes when it engages in transformation. Engaging in transformation, adapting to circumstances, Purity and bliss do not change. Emptiness contains the ocean seal, Perfectly, without any lack. The function without lack, Inner and outer, all are merged. Each dharma is independent, without comparison, Every gate is empty and open. The gate of emptiness and openness, Is the path of playful freedom. Cast off the roots and dust of the senses, Wash and refresh seeing and hearing. Seeing and hearing interrelate, A thousand hands and eyes appear. While others are ever busy, I am always continuous. The wondrous continuity, No trace or sign has yet emerged. Bliss in purity, Contemplation in silence. The home of silence and contemplation, The chamber of purity and bliss. Dwelling peacefully, forgetting weariness, Abandoning the flower, taking the fruit. An inscription on taking the fruit: Nothing that can be said.
