### 普勸念佛往生淨土

> Universal Encouragement to Recite Buddha's Name for Rebirth in the Pure Land

彌陀經言。若人念佛。臨命終時。必生彼國。又觀經言。念佛之人。生彼國者。蓮分九品。蓋此念佛法門。不論男女僧俗。不論貴賤賢愚。但一心不亂。隨其功行大小。九品往生。故知世間。無有一人不堪念佛。若人富貴受用現成。正好念佛。若人貧窮。家小累少。正好念佛。若人有子。宗祀得記。正好念佛。若人無子。孤身自由。正好念佛。若人子孝。安受供養。正好念佛。若人子逆。免生恩愛。正好念佛。若人無病。趁身康健。正好念佛。若人有病。切近無常。正好念佛。若人年老。光景無多。正好念佛。若人年少。精神清利。正好念佛。若人處閒。心無事擾。正好念佛。若人處忙。忙裏偷閒。正好念佛。若人出家。逍遙物外。正好念佛。若人在家。知是火宅。正好念佛。若人聰明。通曉淨土。正好念佛。若人愚魯。別無所能。正好念佛。若人持律。律是佛制。正好念佛。若人看經。經是佛說。正好念佛。若人參禪。禪是佛心。正好念佛。若人悟道。悟須佛證。正好念佛。普勸諸人。火急念佛。九品往生。華開見佛。見佛聞法。究竟成佛。始知自心。本來是佛。

> The Amitabha Sutra says: If a person recites the Buddha's name, at the end of their life, they will surely be born in that land. The Contemplation Sutra also says: Those who recite the Buddha's name and are born in that land will be divided into nine levels of lotus rebirth. This practice of reciting the Buddha's name is open to everyone—men and women, monks and laypeople, noble and lowly, wise and foolish. As long as one maintains single-minded focus without distraction, they will be reborn according to the depth of their practice. Therefore, we know that in this world, there is no one who is incapable of reciting the Buddha's name. If you are wealthy and enjoy a life of ease, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are poor and have few family burdens, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you have children to carry on your lineage, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you have no children and enjoy personal freedom, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If your children are filial and care for you, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If your children are unfilial, sparing you from attachments, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are healthy and strong, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are ill and feel the impermanence of life, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are old and have little time left, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are young and full of energy, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are at leisure with a peaceful mind, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are busy, find a moment to steal from your busyness—it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are a monk living freely beyond worldly concerns, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are a layperson knowing this world is like a burning house, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are wise and understand the Pure Land, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you are simple and have no other abilities, it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you uphold the precepts, know that precepts were taught by the Buddha, so it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you study the sutras, know that sutras were spoken by the Buddha, so it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you practice Chan, know that Chan is the Buddha's mind, so it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. If you have realized the truth, know that enlightenment must be confirmed by the Buddha, so it is the perfect time to recite the Buddha's name. I urge everyone: Hurry, recitate the Buddha's name with urgency. Through the nine levels of lotus rebirth, the flower will open and you will see the Buddha. Seeing the Buddha and hearing the Dharma, you will ultimately attain Buddhahood. Then you will realize that your own mind has always been Buddha.
