### 示某居士

> Guidance for a Lay Practitioner

堅持五戒。一心念佛。孝養父母。亦勸其一心念佛。求願母子。同生淨土。隨緣度日。來供則受莫行募化。莫作念佛會。守分修行。即是末法中。大善人真居士也。

> Uphold the five precepts. Recite the Buddha's name with single-minded focus. Be filial and care for your parents. Also encourage them to recite the Buddha's name, sincerely wishing that both mother and child will be reborn together in the Pure Land. Live each day according to circumstances; accept offerings that come, but do not go out to beg or collect donations. Do not organize Buddha-recitation societies. Stay in your place and cultivate yourself—this is indeed a truly virtuous person and a genuine lay practitioner in the latter days of the Dharma.
