> Elder Shen Guangshan, Age Eighty

我適生年八十一 君逢初度齊八十我生正月二十二 君生先我纔一日筵前羅綺粲如花 門外賓朋密如織世間祝壽比岡陵 我祝惟期安樂國國中教主阿彌陀 超出人天壽無極願君憶念似慈親 老去光陰莫虗擲

> I turned eighty-one this year, And you have also reached your eightieth. I was born on the twenty-second of the first month, You were born just one day ahead of me. Before the feast, silk and finery shine bright as flowers; Outside the gate, friends and guests gather thick as woven threads. The world's birthday wishes all compare to lofty mountains, But my only wish is that you may dwell in the Land of Peace. There, the teacher Amitabha reigns supreme, Transcending humans and devas, with life everlasting. May you ever remember him, as a merciful parent, And as the years pass, waste not a single day idly.
