訪舊論懷實可傷 經年獨臥涅槃堂門無過客牕無紙 爐有寒灰席有霜病後始知身是苦 徤時多半為人忙老僧自有安閒法 八苦交煎總不妨

> Visiting old friends brings true heartache, Spending years alone in the Nirvana Hall. No visitors at the door, no paper on the window, Coals grow cold in the stove, frost lies on the mat. Only after illness does one know the body is suffering, When healthy, most time is spent running for others. This old monk has his own way of finding peace— Even when all eight kinds of suffering converge, they cannot touch him.
