幻質寧知有敗傷 舉頭驚倒涅槃堂一生盡也殘更夢 萬慮灰來皎日霜過去業多心主亂 前趨路險脚跟忙而今欲問安閒法 臨渴開池事已妨

> This illusory body—who knows when it will break or fail? Lifting my head, I’m startled to find myself in Nirvana Hall. A whole life ends—just a dream in the dying night. All worries come—like frost in the bright morning sun. Past karma piles up, my mind is scattered and confused. The path ahead is steep, my steps are hurried and unsteady. Now I want to ask the way to peace and rest— But digging a well when already thirsty is too late.

徒入空門最可傷 涅槃今是試僧堂炎燒五內魚遊釜 痛切諸根草被霜獨抱癡禪成底事 旁修外術枉千忙人人道有安閒法 爭奈臨行一句妨

> Entering the monastic life can bring the deepest sorrow— Now, nirvana itself is tested in the monk’s hall. A blazing fire burns within, like a fish in a boiling pot; Agony pierces every sense, like grass struck by frost. Clinging to a foolish, one-sided meditation—what can that achieve? Relying on outside techniques is nothing but futile haste. Everyone speaks of a calm and peaceful path, But at the final moment, a single thought can still get in the way.

脫體無依絕毀傷 沉疴終日自堂堂心燈破暗明如月 慧劍降魔凜似霜藥病兩非何足辯 死生雙幻不須忙從誰更覔安閒法 纔說安閒便有妨

> Once free from self and all supports, no harm can come to you; Eternal ailments fade in the brightness that shines through. The heart’s lamp breaks the dark, clear as the moon; Like frost, the sword of wisdom cuts down demons soon. Neither medicine nor sickness—why debate their name? Life and death are but illusions; don't rush for fame. Who can you ask to find some peaceful, restful state? The moment peace is named, it’s already too late.
