予病中。有贈以武夷九曲圖者。閱之忻然。因思古人沉疴不起。一友教翫輞川圖。不浹旬而愈。況西方極樂世界。繪畵流布朝夕參禮。而未聞奇驗速効。如輞川者。何耶良繇輞川蹟在寰中。易為描寫。極樂境超世外。難以形容。則不若繪輞川者之備極工巧。聳人心目故也。彼雞頭摩之所傳。十六觀經之所說。亦略示其槩而已。夫極樂世界。忉利兜率。化樂諸天。所不能及其少分。使人得而詳覩。何止四百四病之俱忘將八萬四千煩惱諸病。皆消滅無餘矣。昔人謂神棲安養。又為先送心歸極樂天豈徒然哉。

The reason is simple: Wangchuan is a real place within this world, easy to depict. But the Pure Land is a realm beyond the world, difficult to capture fully. It simply cannot be drawn with the same exquisite skill that stirs the mind and eyes. Indeed, what was transmitted by Jitoumo (Nagarjuna) and described in the Sutra of the Sixteen Visualizations offers only a rough outline. Now, the joy of the Western Pure Land surpasses even the heavens of Trayastrimsha, Tusita, and the Bliss of Transformation—they cannot match even a fraction of it. If people could see it in full detail, not only would they be freed from all four hundred and four illnesses, but even the eighty-four thousand afflictions and all their ailments would vanish without a trace. Ancient masters spoke of resting the spirit in the Land of Peace and Nourishment, and of first sending the mind home to the Heaven of Ultimate Bliss. Could this be in vain?
