> Master Shouguang's Verse

放生贖命事雖庸 無限陰功在此中一歲積成千種福 十年培養萬重功已赴網羅遭困阨 將投湯火近驚忡臨形遇赦恩無極 彼壽隆兮爾壽隆

> Free captive lives, though the world may call it lowly, Within this act, infinite merit grows. One year amasses blessings of a thousand kinds, Ten years' nurture, ten thousand kinds of grace. Those caught in nets, in great distress and plight, Soon doomed to boiling pots, in dread and fright, When granted pardon, boundless grace they meet— Their lives prolonged, your own life grows complete.
