The Recorded Sayings of Master Shuzhong Wuyun was spoken by the eminent Linji school Chan Master Shuzhong Wuyun of the Ming Dynasty and compiled by his dharma heirs, including Zongfu and Daoxuan. Completed during the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, a significant period in Chan development, this work collects the master's teachings, dharma talks, encounter dialogues, and poetry, centrally embodying his Chan thought and essential practice principles. As a transmitter of the Linji lineage, Master Wuyun emphasized directly pointing to the human mind and seeing one's nature to become a Buddha. His recorded sayings are known for their concise and sharp style, holding an important place in the history of Buddhist Chan. It is a precious text for studying Ming Dynasty Chan trends and Linji school thought, offering profound guidance for later generations of Chan practitioners.
