### 第二十六并州僧感受持觀經阿彌陀經生淨土感應新錄

并州有比丘名僧感。持觀無量壽經阿彌陀經以為業。感夢見自身生羽翼。左觀經文。右阿彌陀經文。欲飛身尚少重。覺彌誦兩經。三年後夢。羽翼既長。欲飛少輕。更經二年夢。身輕飛騰虛空無礙。即指西方而飛行。到極樂地。爾時有一佛二菩薩。汝誦經力。得到極樂邊地。汝早還娑婆。每日誦四十八卷一千日。後方生上品地。夢覺如說修行三年而終。臥處頓生九莖蓮花。七日不萎落矣。

> In Bingzhou there was a monk named Senggan, who devoted himself to chanting the Contemplation Sutra of Immeasurable Life and the Amitabha Sutra as his daily practice. One night, he dreamed that wings had grown from his body—on the left were the words of the Contemplation Sutra, and on the right, the words of the Amitabha Sutra. He wanted to fly, but his body was still too heavy. When he woke, he diligently recited both sutras. Three years later, he dreamed again. This time, his wings had grown longer, and though he tried to fly, he was still a little too heavy. After another two years, he dreamed that his body was light and that he soared through the sky without any obstruction. He headed west, flying straight toward the Land of Ultimate Bliss. Upon arriving, he saw a Buddha and two Bodhisattvas, who said to him: "Through the power of your sutra recitation, you have reached the borderlands of the Pure Land. But return soon to the Saha world. Recite forty-eight scrolls every day for a thousand days, and only then will you be reborn in the highest realm." When he woke from this dream, he followed these instructions exactly and practiced for three years, until his passing. At the place where he lay, nine lotus flowers suddenly sprang up, and they did not wither for seven days.
