### No. 820-H成唯識論俗詮䟦

我聞三性法門。是諸佛密意所說。諸識起處。教經根由緣識起。於真如性體。法法是識。識識是性。以故識能顯性。亦能覆性。能徧計能依他亦能圓成。古德云。妄起於真而能覆真真因妄顯而能奪妄。故顯真必由於妄。顯性必由於識。因是諸佛菩薩。密意方便權巧。成就三分。論唯識義。第論密意深。非深於密意者了難究竟。壬子春。西蜀昱師高原。開席於杭郡淨寺。發明此論。復作詮註。自題曰俗詮。此詮出。則本論之前提後掇散句重條者。整整如獨繭描絲。明珠成串。讀者不勞駐目停想。了然義融識解。使客亭遊子。人人認得路頭捷徑到家。回視他鄉。熟識所識一向非親。令得安隱。快樂無涯。如是師詮。人天當為踴躍。三藏寶詮相應。為第一義云。

> I have heard of the Three-Nature Dharma Gate. This is the profound intention spoken by all Buddhas. Where all consciousness arises, the teachings trace their roots to the arising of consciousness based on conditions. Within the true nature of reality, every dharma is consciousness, and every consciousness is nature. Therefore, consciousness can reveal nature, but it can also obscure nature. It can engage in conceptual discrimination, depend on conditions, and also achieve perfect realization. The ancient sages said: "Delusion arises from truth yet can obscure truth; truth is revealed through delusion yet can overcome delusion." Thus, revealing truth must rely on delusion; revealing nature must rely on consciousness. For this reason, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, with profound intention and skillful means, established the three divisions to expound the meaning of Consciousness-Only. The discourse on this profound intention is deep; those not deeply acquainted with its meaning will find it difficult to fully comprehend. In the spring of the Renzi year, Master Yu of the Western Shu Plateau opened a lecture at Jing Temple in Hangzhou, elucidating this discourse and further composing explanatory notes. He titled it "A Common Explanation." With the emergence of this explanation, the scattered phrases and repeated points before and after the original discourse are now neatly arranged like silk drawn from a single cocoon or pearls strung into a necklace. Readers no longer need to pause and ponder, for the meaning becomes clear and consciousness is understood. It enables every traveler at the inn to recognize the direct path home. Looking back at other lands, one realizes that what was once familiar was never truly intimate, allowing one to attain peace and boundless joy. Such is the master's explanation—it should be celebrated by humans and gods alike. Corresponding to the treasure of the Three Baskets, it stands as the foremost meaning.
