### 離却語言

> Departing from Language

風穴和尚。因僧問。語默涉離微。如何通不犯。穴云。長憶江南三月裏。鷓鴣啼處百花香。

> Master Fengxue was once asked by a monk, "When words and silence touch the subtleties of leaving and entering, how can one pass through without violating?" The master replied, "I often recall Jiangnan in the third month—where partridges call, a hundred flowers bloom with fragrance."

無門曰。風穴機如掣電。得路便行。爭奈坐前人舌頭不斷。若向者裏見得親切。自有出身之路。且離却語言三昧。道將一句來。

> Wumen says: "Fengxue's wit was like lightning—swift and unstoppable. Once he found the path, he walked it without hesitation. But what about the one before him whose tongue never stopped? If you can see clearly right here, you will naturally find your own way out. Now, apart from the samadhi of words and speech, say one phrase."

頌曰。

> The verse says:

不露風骨句 未語先分付進步口喃喃 知君大罔措

> A phrase that reveals no hidden edge, Spoken before a word is even shared. With each step forward, muttering to oneself, I know you're utterly bewildered, lost in thought.
