### 三座說法

> Three Dharma Assemblies

仰山和尚。夢見往彌勒所安第三座。有一尊者。白槌云。今日當第三座說法。山乃起白槌云。摩訶衍法離四句絕百非。諦聽諦聽。

> Master Yangshan dreamed that he went to Maitreya's place and sat in the third seat. A venerable one struck the gavel and announced, "Today the one in the third seat will expound the Dharma." Yangshan then rose and, striking the gavel, said, "The Dharma of the Mahayana transcends the four propositions and is free from the hundred negations. Listen closely, listen closely."

無門曰。且道是說法不說法。開口即失。閉口又喪。不開不閉十萬八千。

> Wumen says: "Tell me, is this preaching the Dharma or not? Opening the mouth is a loss; closing the mouth is a loss. If you neither open nor close, it's a hundred and eight thousand miles away."

頌曰。

> The verse says:

白日青天 夢中說夢 揑怪揑怪誑謼一眾

> In broad daylight, speaking of dreams within dreams, creating illusions, weaving deceptions— fooling the entire assembly.
