### 不是心佛

> Not Mind, Not Buddha

南泉和尚。因僧問云。還有不與人說底法麼。泉云有僧云。如何是不與人說底法。泉云。不是心不是佛不是物。

> Master Nanquan was once asked by a monk, "Is there any Dharma that is not spoken to others?" Nanquan said, "Yes, there is." The monk asked, "What is this Dharma that is not spoken to others?" Nanquan said, "It is not the mind, not the Buddha, not any thing."

無門曰。南泉被者一問。直得揣盡家私。郎當不少。

> Wumen says: When Nanquan was asked that question, he was forced to reveal everything he had, leaving himself completely exposed and having nothing left to hold back.

頌曰。

叮嚀損君德 無言真有功任從滄海變 終不為君通

> A warning that harms your virtue, Silence truly holds merit. Let the vast seas change as they may, In the end, they cannot sway your heart.
