### 倩女離魂

> Qian Nu Leaves Her Body

五祖問僧云。倩女離魂。那箇是真底。

> The Fifth Patriarch asked the monastics, "When a young woman's spirit leaves her body, which one is the real her?"

無門曰。若向者裏悟得真底。便知出殼入殼。如宿旅舍。其或未然。切莫亂走。驀然地水火風一散。如落湯螃蠏七手八脚。那時莫言。不道。

> Wumen says: If you awaken to the truth in this place, you will understand that entering and leaving the shell of the body is like staying at an inn. If you have not yet realized this, do not wander about carelessly. For when the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind suddenly scatter, you will be like a crab thrown into boiling water, flailing with all its limbs. At that time, do not say that no one warned you.

頌曰。

> The verse says:

雲月是同 溪山各異 萬福萬福是一是二

> Clouds and moon are the same; streams and mountains are each different. Ten thousand blessings, ten thousand blessings. Are they one or two?
