### 理貫帶

> The Principle of the Girdle

夫聲色不到。語路難詮。今古歷然。從來無間。以言顯道。曲為今時。竪拂揚眉。周遮示誨。天然上士。豈受提撕。中下之機。鉤頭取則。投機不妙。過在何人。更或躊躇。轉加鈍置。理貫帶者。理即正位也。其正位中。而無一法空同實際。其實際理地。不受一塵。

> When sights and sounds cannot reach, and words and speech find no way to express— yet through all time, clearly present, never separated, never apart. To use words to reveal the Way is but a bending for this present age. Raising the whisk, lifting the eyebrows— all are roundabout ways of pointing. Those of natural, superior capacity— do they need such prompting? For those of middling or lesser readiness, the hook is set, the example given. If the meeting of minds is not subtle, where does the fault lie? If one still hesitates and doubts, confusion only deepens. As for "principle carried with"— principle is the true position. In that true position, not a single dharma exists; empty, one with reality itself. In the ground of actual principle, not a single speck of dust is accepted.

古德著語云。眾角雖多一麟足矣。動容揚古路。不墮悄然機。
