夫觸目是道。佛事門中。絕跡無私。通貫實際。圓融事理。運用雙行。器量堪任。隨機赴感。門風露布。各在當人。建立宗乘。強生枝節。出門問路。指東劃西。歷劫頑嚚。如何扣發古德著語云。針鋒頭上翻筋斗。紅爐焰裏碧波生。猿抱子歸青嶂裏。鳥啣花落碧巖前。

> When everything you see is the Way itself, in the gate of the Buddha’s work, no trace remains, no self-clinging. It penetrates the true reality, merging principle and phenomena seamlessly, functioning with dual ease. Capacity and readiness arise naturally, responding to conditions as they come. The gate’s style is openly revealed— each person must embody it themselves. To set up schools and doctrines is to force branches where none should grow. Going out the door to ask the way, pointing east, drawing west— through countless ages, stubborn and dull— how can such a one awaken? <note>An ancient master once said: “Somersault on the tip of a needle, blue waves rise in a red furnace’s flames. The ape returns to the green cliffs, holding its child; the bird drops a flower before the blue crag.”</note>
