### 要訣山堂淳

> Essentials

大雄正續臨濟綱宗。因問黃檗西來。痛與烏藤三頓。遂往大愚打發。親揮肋下三拳。言下便見老婆心。懸知佛法無多子。奮奔雷喝。捋猛虎鬚。迸開於赤肉團邊。到處用白拈手段。飛星爆竹。裂石崩崖。氷稜上行。劍刃上走。全機電卷。大用天旋。赤手殺人。單刀直入。人境俱奪。照用並行。明頭來。暗頭來。佛也殺。祖也殺。辨古今於三玄三要。驗龍蛇於一主一賓。透脫羅籠。不存玄解。操金剛王劍。掃除竹木精靈。奮師子全威。振群狐心膽。下梢正法眼藏。滅却這瞎驢邊。徹骨徹髓。而血脈貫通。透頂透底。而乾坤獨露。綿綿不漏。器器相傳。蓋其宗祖高明。子孫光大。此臨濟宗也。

Distinguishing past and present through the three mysteries and three essentials, testing dragons and snakes through host and guest. Breaking through cages and nets, not holding onto mysterious understanding. Wielding the Vajra King's sword, sweeping away bamboo and wood spirits. Displaying the lion's full majesty, shaking the hearts of all foxes. In the end, the true Dharma eye treasury was extinguished beside this blind donkey. Through and through to the bone and marrow, yet the bloodline flows unbroken. Penetrating from top to bottom, heaven and earth stand revealed alone. Continuous without leakage, transmitted from vessel to vessel. Because its ancestors were lofty and bright, its descendants are vast and great. This is the Linji school.
