> Outline Verses

康氏圓形滯不明。 魔深虛喪擊寒氷。 鳳羽展時超碧漢。晉鋒八博擬何憑。 是機是對對機迷。闢機機遠遠機棲。 夕日日中誰有掛。因底底事隔情迷。

> The Kang family's round shape stagnates, unclear. Demons deep, emptiness lost, striking cold ice. When the phoenix feathers spread, they soar beyond the azure heavens. The Jin edge, eightfold gambit, on what is it based? This is the mechanism, this is the response—responding to the mechanism, one is lost. Opening the mechanism, the mechanism drifts far; the distant mechanism rests. Evening sun, midday sun—who has anything to hang? Because of the foundation, the underlying matter, emotions are separated and confused.

喪時光藤林荒。 圖人意滯肌尫。 咄咄咄力韋希。禪子訝中眉垂。 上不見天下不見地。塞却咽喉何處出氣。 笑我者多哂我者少。

> When the time of loss arrives, the vines wither and the forest grows wild. The mind's intent stagnates, the body frail and weak. Alas, alas, alas! Strength falters, hope grows dim. The Zen practitioner wonders, brows furrowed in thought. Above, they see no sky; below, they see no earth. Blocked at the throat, where can the breath escape? Many laugh at me, few understand my sigh.
