### 大陽頌

> Ode to the Great Sun

不立功勳坐廟堂。 群臣何敢望清光。 潭潭禁殿尊嚴甚。君寂寞無人夜未央。

> Without merit, he sits in the temple hall; How dare the ministers gaze upon his clear light? Deep and solemn, the forbidden palace stands in utmost dignity— Yet lonely and silent, with no one in sight, the night remains unending.

文經武緯定中華。 遍歷階梯贊國家。 功業已隆加九錫。臣與君神氣看些些。

> With civil governance and military might, he stabilizes the Middle Kingdom. Ascending each step, he brings honor to the nation. His achievements are lofty, adorned with the nine imperial honors. As a subject, I share with the ruler a spirit and energy, ever so slightly.

位尊九五不曾居。 常與群臣共一途。 深隱後宮天下治。君視臣免教夷狄望來蘇。

> Though seated on the throne of highest honor, he does not dwell apart. He always walks the same path as his ministers and people. By staying deep within the inner palace, he brings order to the land— So that foreign tribes will not look upon him with longing for deliverance.

念念輸忠不敢欺。 頭頭奉重丈夫兒。 看君千里長安道。臣向君玉鐙皆趣闕下歸。

> With every thought, I pledge my loyalty, never deceiving. In all matters, I honor the noble man. I watch you journey a thousand miles on the road to Chang'an, Your jade stirrups hastening toward the palace gates.

臣主相忘古殿寒。 萬年槐樹雪漫漫。 千門坐掩靜如水。君臣道合只有垂楊舞翠烟。

無中有路透長安。 劫外靈枝孰敢攀。 寶殿苔生尊貴重。總頌三更紅日黑漫漫。
