### 曹山五位君臣圖頌并序

> Caoshan's Diagram of the Five Ranks: Lord and Minister

夫正者。黑白未分。朕兆未生。不落諸聖位也。偏者。朕兆興來。故有森羅萬象隱顯妙門也。

> The True Nature is before black and white are distinguished, before the first sign of existence arises, and before any sage's attainment is reached. The Partial View is when the first sign of existence emerges, giving rise to the myriad phenomena and the wondrous gateways of the hidden and the manifest.

白衣雖拜相。 此事不為奇。 積代簪纓者。休言落魄時。

> A commoner may rise to minister, This is no cause for surprise. Those born of noble lineage for generations— Do not speak of their days of hardship.

子時當正位。 明正在君臣。 未離兜率界。 烏雞雪上行。

> At the hour of the Rat, the true position is established. Bright clarity rests in the roles of ruler and minister. Not yet departed from the Tusita realm, A black rooster walks upon the snow.

⊙焰裏寒氷結。 楊花九月飛。 泥牛吼水面。 木馬逐風嘶。

> Flames freeze into ice. Willow catkins fly in the ninth month. A clay ox bellows on the water's surface. A wooden horse neighs as it chases the wind.

○正宮初降日。 玉兔不能離。 未得無功旨。人天何太遲。

●混然藏理事。 朕兆卒難明。 威音王未曉。彌勒豈惺惺。
