> Yongjia's Five Ranks of Merit

到處相逢元不識。 有時不識却相逢。 師襄無目還如見。師曠能聰恰似聾向。

> Everywhere we meet, yet we never truly know each other. Sometimes we don't recognize, yet we meet again. Master Xiang, though blind, still sees clearly. Master Kuang, though sharp of hearing, seems as if deaf.

金針密密綉鴛鴦。 錦縫綿綿玉線長。 挂向春園人不識。引他蜂蝶過來忙奉。

> Golden needles stitch mandarin ducks with care, Silk threads weave endless patterns, fine and rare. Hung in spring gardens, unseen by human eyes, They draw bees and butterflies in busy, buzzing skies.

顏生陋巷不堪憂。 終日如愚樂自繇。 謾說坐忘為益矣。功累他尼父一場愁。

> Yan Hui lived in a humble lane, yet never troubled by hardship. All day long he seemed simple, yet joy flowed freely within. Do not speak of sitting in forgetfulness as a mere benefit— It spared his teacher, Confucius, a world of worry.

淮南道士著真紅。 勿謂情忘色是空。 醮罷玉壇移斗柄。共功步虛一曲對春風。

> The Taoist of Huainan writes in true crimson. Do not say that passion forgotten, form is emptiness. After the ritual, the jade altar shifts the Dipper's handle. A step into the void, one song facing the spring breeze.

漢高初起沛豐間。 三尺龍泉帝業安。 待得叔孫成禮樂。功功元來不共汝同盤。
