Vinaya Treasure Veneration Record (毗尼珍敬錄)

According to the Sanghika-vinaya, when the scriptures were compiled, the summary verses were produced first, followed by the detailed Vinaya texts. In the Mūla-vinaya, there are also summary verses, which were created to help beginners memorize the teachings. Now, in the Four-Part Vinaya, there are no such verses. If we were to borrow from other traditions, the order would not align. If we were to keep the original format, beginners might find it difficult to memorize. Therefore, I have taken the liberty of composing summary verses following this example, so that beginners may recite them first. In this way, the essential principles of the five categories of precepts are already outlined.

If one engages in sexual misconduct, Steals property worth five coins, Or intentionally takes a human life, Or lies about spiritual attainment— These are the four grave offenses, Except for those who act out of prideful ignorance. Those who commit them cannot be saved.

These are the thirteen Sangha offenses requiring confession, To be repented before the assembly of twenty.

There are two uncertain rules, Three and two according to the offense.
