### 釋法成十三

> Dharma Master Cheng, Thirteen

釋法成，涼州人。十六出家，學通經律。不餌五穀，唯食松脂，隱居巖穴，習禪為務。元嘉中，東海王懷素出守巴西，聞風遣迎，會於涪城。夏坐講律，事竟辭反。因停廣漢，復弘禪法。後小疾便告眾云。成常誦《寶積經》，於是自力誦之，始得半卷，氣劣不堪，乃令人讀之，一遍纔竟，合掌而卒。侍疾十餘人，咸見空中紺馬背負金棺，升空而逝。

> Shi Facheng was a native of Liangzhou. At sixteen, he left home to become a monk, mastering both sutras and vinaya. He did not eat the five grains, subsisting only on pine resin, and lived in seclusion in mountain caves, devoting himself to meditation. During the Yuanjia era, Prince Huaisu of Donghai was appointed governor of Baxi. Hearing of Facheng's reputation, he sent an invitation and met with him in Fucheng. Facheng spent the summer retreat lecturing on the vinaya, and after finishing his work, he took his leave. He then stopped in Guanghan, where he again propagated the practice of meditation. Later, when he fell slightly ill, he told the assembly, "Facheng has always recited the \*Ratnakuta Sutra\*." Rousing his strength, he began reciting it himself, but managed only half a scroll before his breath grew too weak to continue. He then asked someone else to read it aloud. The moment the recitation was completed, he pressed his palms together and passed away. More than ten attendants tending to him in his illness all witnessed in the sky a dark azure horse carrying a golden coffin, ascending into the air and disappearing.
