The *Continuation Commentary on the Awakening of Faith*, authored by the eminent late Ming dynasty monk Master Tongrun, is a continuation of the commentary on the important Buddhist treatise, the *Mahayana Awakening of Faith*. This work inherits the ideas of ancient masters such as Fazang and Zongmi from the Tang dynasty, centering on the doctrines of Consciousness-Only and Tathāgatagarbha. It provides an in-depth interpretation of concepts such as the One Mind with Two Aspects and the arising of phenomena from Suchness, while also integrating the essential teachings of the Huayan and Tiantai schools. Composed during a period of decline in Buddhist doctrinal studies, the work aimed to rectify academic shortcomings and revive correct understanding, representing a significant achievement in Ming dynasty Buddhist thought. With its rigorous structure and profound explanations, it is regarded as an important reference for studying the *Awakening of Faith* and the mind-nature theories of Chinese Buddhism, holding a prominent place in the history of Buddhist commentaries.
