> Chapter 67: The Pure Lotus Wisdom King

爾時觀世音菩薩摩訶薩說此大可畏明王央俱捨真言時，便復合掌瞻仰如來，熙怡微笑，身放億俱胝百千色光，照曜十方三千大千佛之世界。以光神力，能令十方三千大千諸佛世界滿虛空際靉靆，彌雨天諸眾妙寶雨海雲，天諸殊特牛頭栴檀末香塗香海雲，廣大清淨薩頗胝迦寶香海雲。放斯光時，眉間白毫出甘露渧，如大星流，其色明踰頗胝迦寶，清淨瑩徹從空墜下，正住佛前變成眾寶千葉蓮華。其華純以瑠璃為莖，有大光明超億千日初出色光，磐薄高大如菩薩等。

> At that time, when the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the Great Being, proclaimed this great awe-inspiring mantra known as the "Yamgulisa of the Fearsome King," he once again joined his palms and gazed upon the Tathagata. His face broke into a gentle smile, and from his body radiated hundreds of thousands of millions of brilliant lights, each of a different hue, illuminating the boundless worlds of the Buddha in all ten directions across the great trichiliocosm. Through the power of this radiant light, he caused the entire expanse of space in those countless Buddha-worlds to be filled with a dense cloud of divine offerings—showers of exquisite jeweled rains, vast seas of clouds bearing the finest sandalwood powder and fragrant unguents, and magnificent seas of clouds carrying pure, radiant jewel-incense. As this light shone forth, from the white curl between his brows there flowed a stream of nectar, descending like a cascade of mighty stars. Its hue surpassed even the brilliance of the finest crystal, pure and translucent, falling from the heavens until it came to rest before the Buddha, where it transformed into a thousand-petaled lotus of manifold jewels. Its stem was fashioned entirely of lapis lazuli, and it emitted a blazing radiance more brilliant than a thousand rising suns, its vast, layered petals towering high, rising noble and great like a Bodhisattva in stature.

爾時執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩見此露渧變成眾寶千葉蓮華，瑠璃為莖光明赫奕，踊躍歡喜得未曾有。即起合掌，頭面禮足，白言：「聖者今所神變實難思議。我今思念本未曾識，惟願聖者速為解釋。」

> Then the great being Vajradhara, Lord of Secrets, witnessed the dew transform into a thousand-petaled jeweled lotus, its stem of crystal glowing brilliantly. Filled with unprecedented joy, he rose, pressed his palms together, and bowed at the feet of the Holy One, saying: "Blessed One, this miracle you have shown is truly beyond imagination. I confess I have never understood such power before. I humbly ask you to explain this at once."

爾時觀世音菩薩摩訶薩告執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩言：「我有不空羂索心王名清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶，我欲佛前當正宣說。以此明王央俱捨真言神通威力，故現斯瑞。如是明王，我白毫中而出現之，具大周廣神通威德。」

> At that time, the great Bodhisattva Guanyin said to the great Bodhisattva Vajrapani, the Lord of Secrets: "I possess the supreme heart-king of the Unfailing Lasso, known as the Great Mandala Seal Samadhi of the Clear Lotus Radiant King's Mystic Mantra. I wish to proclaim it properly before the Buddha. Through the majestic power of this Radiant King's Mystic Mantra of the Unfailing Lasso, these auspicious signs now appear. This Radiant King emerged from the white tuft between my brows, embodying vast and boundless miraculous power and virtue."

爾時執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩聞斯說已，合掌恭敬，頭面頂禮，右繞三匝，乃往佛前於一面立，手持白拂揖拂如來一切智身。

> At that time, the great being Vajradhara, the lord of secrets, heard these words and, with palms pressed together in reverence, bowed low before the Buddha, circumambulated him three times to the right, and then stood to one side before the Buddha. Holding a white whisk, he gently brushed it over the Tathagata's body, which embodies all wisdom.

爾時釋迦牟尼如來謂觀世音菩薩摩訶薩言：「汝今當說不空羂索心王清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶。若演說者，則得一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶，顯現開剖無諸翳障。如是一切陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶，隨是明王法中住現。一切最勝真實解脫曼拏羅王三昧耶，及諸天神壇印三昧耶皆顯現之。如是明王央俱捨真言，常為一切天神壇神而守護之恒不放捨，於世諸法疾得成就。」

> At that time, the Buddha Shakyamuni, the Tathagata, said to Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva: "You should now explain the great mandala mudra samaya of the heart king of the Unfailing Lasso, the Clear Lotus Wisdom King, together with its mantra. If one expounds this, one will attain the secret mind of all Tathagata lineages—the dharani, mantra, mandala, mudra, and samaya—revealed openly without any obstruction. All such dharani, mantra, mandala, mudra, and samaya abide and appear within this Wisdom King's teachings. The supreme, true, and liberating king of mandalas, along with all the celestial deities' mandala mudras and samayas, will also manifest. This Wisdom King's lasso mantra is constantly guarded and never abandoned by all celestial deities and altar guardians. Through it, all worldly dharmas are quickly accomplished."

爾時觀世音菩薩摩訶薩承佛誥語，為於世間一切垢重尠福有情持陀羅尼真言者，仰觀如來歡喜奮迅，即說清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言曰：

> Namo to the noble Avalokiteshvara, Who bows to all Buddhas and bodhisattvas, To the great assembly of the mandala, And to the mighty Vajradhara, Lord of all spiritual families. Homage to the boundless, To all the noble beings, To the Buddha's disciples, And to the great mandala assembly. Namo to the Three Jewels, To noble Avalokiteshvara, The bodhisattva of great compassion, Who pervades all mandalas with his power. Let every obstacle be removed, Let all negative karma be purified, Let confusion and suffering dissolve, Through the radiant light of wisdom. Om! Glorious one, whose light shines everywhere, See all beings with boundless compassion. May the lotus of your vision open, And may all who see you be liberated. The brilliance of the great mandala blazes forth, Dispelling darkness, bringing light to all. May all who hear this sacred sound, Be blessed with peace and freedom from fear. Homage to the great and powerful one, Who holds the lotus and the vajra, Who protects all beings with compassion, And leads them to the farthest shore. Om mani padme hum! May this sacred mantra awaken, The heart of wisdom in all beings, And guide them to enlightenment. May all who practice with devotion, Be embraced by the compassionate light, Of Avalokiteshvara, the glorious one, Who watches over all with boundless love. Om! May all sorrows cease, May all beings find happiness, May the light of wisdom shine, And may liberation be attained. May the blessings of this sacred practice, Reach all beings in every realm, And may they all realize, The true nature of their own minds. Om! Vajra, lotus, wisdom, Compassion beyond measure, May all beings be freed from suffering, And attain the bliss of enlightenment. Homage to the sublime one, Who embodies infinite compassion, May we all be embraced by your grace, And awakened to the truth. Svaha!

爾時觀世音菩薩摩訶薩說是明王真言之時，光明溥照一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言曼拏羅印三昧耶，佛前蓮華即自開敷，臺中出現不空羂索心王清淨蓮華明王，三面四臂，首戴寶冠，冠有化佛。當中正面圓滿熙怡，眉間一目，左右二面如不空羂索觀世音左右面目。一手持開蓮華、一手執羂索、一手持寶幢、一手把三叉戟。眾寶瓔珞、耳璫環釧、天諸衣服種種莊嚴，相好殊特踰於諸天，無量億千蓮華臺上結加趺坐，放億俱胝百千光明。放斯光時從座而起，整理衣服合掌恭敬，頂禮雙足繞佛三匝，却還本座曲躬而立瞻仰尊顏目不異顧。爾時釋迦牟尼如來謂清淨蓮華明王言：「善哉殊特！何故前立瞻視我好？欲求何願？」爾時清淨蓮華明王前白佛言：「今於如來請授一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言曼拏羅印三昧耶，總持明門最上第一。」佛復告言：「汝欲十方一切如來毘盧遮那如來一切種族祕密心陀羅尼真言曼拏羅印三昧耶灌頂受記者，汝當善聽，我授與汝，稱汝第一。汝今授名多羅菩薩，亦名濕廢多白身觀世音菩薩，亦名毘俱胝觀世音菩薩，亦名蓮華端嚴首菩薩，亦名計唎枳利大天神，亦名金剛度底天神，亦名毘摩羅迦履天神，亦名蓮華眼天神，亦名金剛鎖天神，亦名毘利金剛天神，亦名蓮華光明天神，亦名成就業行天神，亦名大真言王天神，亦名不空首王天神，亦名暴伽𮧬多天神，亦名功德天神，亦名毘摩羅天神，亦名無譬喻天神，亦名辯才天神，亦名一髻天神，亦名千眼天神，亦名千臂天神，亦名千頭天神，亦名不空蓮華天神，亦名大寶天神，亦名出一切寶天神，亦名世間自在天神，亦名大明密號自在王天神，亦名大海天神，亦名大天女天神，亦名一切種族壇天神，亦名誦念安隱大天神，亦名種族大天神，亦名端正金剛天神，亦名執輪天神，亦名執鉞刀天神，亦名執劍天神，亦名奮怒天神，亦名奮怒王天神，亦名破黑暗天神，亦名瞋面天神，亦名狗牙天神，亦名赤黃色天神，亦名金髮天神，亦名執寶手天神，亦名大地輪天神，亦名持一切物天神，亦名供養水器天神，亦名種種飲食天神，亦名一切最大天神，亦名塗香末香華鬘天神，亦名一切遍行天神，亦名一切自在天神，亦名示女相天神，亦名度脫一切天神，亦名持真言天神，亦名囉惹天神，亦名一切如來大種族天神，亦名大丈夫真言王天神，亦名觀世音菩薩白毫上出現天神，亦名寶甘露天神，亦名大星光天神，亦名種種相貌天神，亦名種種事業天神。清淨蓮華明王！所授汝諸名等，若有人民每日晨朝信解受持讀誦之者，速得一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶現前成就。是諸名等通入一切種族陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶，一切天神壇神住護，一切如來毘盧遮那如來、釋迦牟尼如來、一切種族祕密心陀羅尼真言曼拏羅印三昧耶中所說名字，觀世音菩薩處處護持，是故說汝最勝第一。汝復授名金剛大悉地王、大蓮華最勝悉地王、如來種族悉地王、大曼拏羅種族悉地王、大摩尼種族悉地王、不空一切曼拏羅最勝心悉地王、大金剛種族頂悉地王、金剛底極悉地王、金剛鬘部悉地王、金剛勝錐悉地王、蓮華端正殊勝悉地王。清淨蓮華明王！所授汝諸悉地王名，若有人民信解受持讀誦之者，速得此諸陀羅尼真言一切悉地王。執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩、十執金剛神、大自在執金剛神觀守護持。以是義故，常令如法受持讀誦此悉地王名者，一切如來毘盧遮那如來、釋迦牟尼如來、一切諸大菩薩摩訶薩眾，亦常觀察加被擁護。」

> At that time, when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Guanyin spoke this mantra of the Bright King, a brilliant light illuminated all the secret heart-mantras, mandalas, seals, and samadhis of the Tathagata lineages. The lotus flower before the Buddha immediately bloomed, and from its center appeared the King of Brightness of the pure lotus, the sovereign of the Unfailing Net of Compassion—a form with three faces and four arms, crowned with a precious diadem upon which sat a transformation Buddha. His central face was full and serene, with a single eye between the brows, while the two side faces resembled the left and right visages of the Unfailing Net Guanyin. In his hands he held an open lotus, a lasso, a jeweled banner, and a trident. Adorned with countless precious ornaments—earrings, bracelets, and heavenly garments—his auspicious marks and features surpassed those of the gods. Upon countless millions of lotus thrones he sat in full lotus posture, radiating hundreds of billions of rays of light. As this light shone forth, he rose from his seat, adjusted his robes, pressed his palms together in reverence, bowed at the Buddha's feet, circumambulated him three times, then returned to his place, stood with bent body, and gazed upon the venerable countenance without turning his eyes away. At that time, Shakyamuni Tathagata said to the King of Brightness of the Pure Lotus: "Excellent and extraordinary! Why do you stand before me, gazing at me so intently? What wish do you seek to fulfill?" Then the King of Brightness of the Pure Lotus said to the Buddha: "Now, in the presence of the Tathagata, I request the transmission of the secret heart-mantras, mandalas, seals, and samadhis of all Tathagata lineages—the supreme and foremost of all mantric gateways." The Buddha replied, "If you wish to receive the anointing and prophecy of the secret heart-mantras, mandalas, seals, and samadhis of the ten-direction Tathagatas, of Vairocana Tathagata, and of all lineages, then listen well. I shall bestow them upon you and declare you foremost. You shall now be known by these names: Tara Bodhisattva, also called Shvetabhagavati White-Bodied Guanyin, also called Bhrikuti Guanyin, also called Lotus-Ornamented Crown Bodhisattva, also called Great Heavenly Deity Kilikili, also called Heavenly Deity Vajra-Kundali, also called Heavenly Deity Vimalakali, also called Heavenly Deity Lotus-Eyes, also called Heavenly Deity Vajra-Shackle, also called Heavenly Deity Vajra-Viri, also called Heavenly Deity Lotus-Radiance, also called Heavenly Deity Fulfilling All Works, also called Heavenly Deity King of Great Mantras, also called Heavenly Deity King of the Unfailing Crown, also called Heavenly Deity Bhaïkajya, also called Heavenly Deity of Merit, also called Heavenly Deity Vimala, also called Heavenly Deity Without Comparison, also called Heavenly Deity of Eloquence, also called Heavenly Deity of the Single Topknot, also called Heavenly Deity of a Thousand Eyes, also called Heavenly Deity of a Thousand Arms, also called Heavenly Deity of a Thousand Heads, also called Heavenly Deity of the Unfailing Lotus, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Treasure, also called Heavenly Deity Emanating All Treasures, also called Heavenly Deity Sovereign of the World, also called Heavenly Deity King of the Great Secret Mantra Title, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Ocean, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Goddess, also called Heavenly Deity of the Mandala of All Lineages, also called Heavenly Deity of Peaceful Recitation, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Lineage, also called Heavenly Deity of Upright Vajra, also called Heavenly Deity Holding the Wheel, also called Heavenly Deity Holding the Axe, also called Heavenly Deity Holding the Sword, also called Heavenly Deity of Wrath, also called Heavenly Deity King of Wrath, also called Heavenly Deity Dispelling Darkness, also called Heavenly Deity of the Angry Face, also called Heavenly Deity of the Dog's Tooth, also called Heavenly Deity of Russet-Yellow Color, also called Heavenly Deity of Golden Hair, also called Heavenly Deity of the Jewel-Holding Hand, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Earth Wheel, also called Heavenly Deity Holding All Objects, also called Heavenly Deity of the Water Offering Vessel, also called Heavenly Deity of Various Foods, also called Heavenly Deity of All That Is Greatest, also called Heavenly Deity of Incense, Unguent, and Flower Garlands, also called Heavenly Deity Pervading All Places, also called Heavenly Deity of All Sovereignty, also called Heavenly Deity Appearing in Female Form, also called Heavenly Deity Liberating All Beings, also called Heavenly Deity Holding Mantras, also called Heavenly Deity Raja, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Lineage of All Tathagatas, also called Heavenly Deity King of Mantras of the Great Hero, also called Heavenly Deity Emanating from the White Hair between Guanyin's Brows, also called Heavenly Deity of the Jewel-Nectar, also called Heavenly Deity of the Great Starlight, also called Heavenly Deity of Various Appearances, also called Heavenly Deity of Various Works. O King of Brightness of the Pure Lotus! These are the names I have bestowed upon you. If any person, every morning, with faith and understanding, recites and upholds them, they will quickly realize in this very life the secret heart-mantras, mantra-mandalas, seals, and samadhis of all Tathagata lineages. These names penetrate all lineage mantras, mandalas, seals, and samadhis, and all heavenly deities of the mandalas will dwell and protect. Throughout the secret heart-mantras, mandalas, seals, and samadhis of all Tathagatas—Vairocana Tathagata, Shakyamuni Tathagata, and all lineages—the names spoken are upheld by Guanyin Bodhisattva everywhere. Therefore, I declare you the most supreme and foremost. Furthermore, I bestow upon you these names of Siddhi Kings: Vajra Great Siddhi King, Great Lotus Supreme Siddhi King, Tathagata Lineage Siddhi King, Great Mandala Lineage Siddhi King, Great Jewel Lineage Siddhi King, Unfailing All-Mandala Supreme Heart Siddhi King, Great Vajra Lineage Crown Siddhi King, Vajra Ground Ultimate Siddhi King, Vajra Banner Division Siddhi King, Vajra Supreme Spike Siddhi King, Lotus Ornate Supremely Auspicious Siddhi King. O King of Brightness of the Pure Lotus! These are the Siddhi King names I have bestowed upon you. If any person, with faith and understanding, recites and upholds them, they will swiftly obtain all these mantra siddhi kings. The Vajradhara Lord of Secrets, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and the Ten Vajra Deities, along with the Great Sovereign Vajra Deity, will watch over and protect them. For this reason, those who thus uphold and recite these names of the Siddhi Kings will always be observed, blessed, and protected by all Tathagatas—Vairocana Tathagata, Shakyamuni Tathagata—and by all the great Bodhisattva Mahasattvas."

爾時釋迦牟尼如來與是明王授記別時，十方大地六變震動，於虛空中靉靆彌雨月光清淨華、盧遮華、摩訶盧遮華、曼陀羅華、摩訶曼陀羅華、鉢頭摩華、拘物頭華、芬陀利華、青優鉢羅華、赤優鉢羅華、阿叔迦華、波吒羅華、芬那誐華、乾陀婆利師迦華、君那利華、阿底木多迦華、波羅奢華、一切金華銀華寶華種種雜華海雲，雨種種寶雲、寶雨海雲，雨牛頭栴檀香、沈水香、龍腦香、欝金香、種種香氣海雲，雨種種香水細雨海雲，雨種種奇妙音聲不鼓自鳴海雲，雨諸衣服寶冠、珠瓔耳璫、鐶釧華鬘、寶莊嚴具海雲，雨三十三天、大梵天、帝釋天、大自在天、俱摩羅天、四天王天、水天、伊首羅天、摩醯首羅天乃至九十九億百千天子所有宮殿、衣服冠瓔、寶珠鐶釧、塗香末香、七寶傘蓋海雲，滿於十方靉靆彌布大作供養。釋迦牟尼佛、觀世音菩薩、清淨蓮華明王、諸大菩薩、執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩并會大眾，十方所有一切剎土一切如來、一切菩薩摩訶薩、一切大眾，皆於空中作大神通種種變現成就之相。是諸如來一切祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶一時顯現，十方一切諸天宮殿亦皆顯現。

> At that time, when the Tathāgata Śākyamuni bestowed the prophecy of enlightenment upon this Bright King, the great earth in all ten directions shook with six kinds of tremors. In the sky, clouds gathered and rained down pure moonlight flowers, lotus flowers, great lotus flowers, mandārava flowers, great mandārava flowers, red lotus flowers, blue lotus flowers, white lotus flowers, green utpala flowers, red utpala flowers, ashoka flowers, pāṭala flowers, puṇṇāga flowers, kundurukā flowers, kuṇḍalī flowers, atimuktaka flowers, pāraśya flowers, and all kinds of golden, silver, and jeweled flowers, forming vast seas of clouds. They rained down clouds of various treasures, jeweled rains, and seas of clouds, raining sandalwood from the cow's head mountain, eaglewood, borneol camphor, saffron, and clouds of countless fragrances. They rained down seas of clouds with fine showers of various fragrant waters, and seas of clouds with wondrous, marvelous sounds that resounded spontaneously without being struck. They rained down seas of clouds bearing garments, jeweled crowns, pearl necklaces, earrings, bracelets, flower garlands, and precious ornaments. They rained down seas of clouds containing the palaces, robes, crowns, necklaces, precious jewels, bracelets, ointments, and powdered incense of the Thirty-Three Heavens, the Great Brahma Heaven, the Heaven of Lord Indra, the Heaven of Maheśvara, the Heaven of Kumāra, the Heaven of the Four Great Kings, the Heaven of Varuṇa, the Heaven of Īśāna, and the Heaven of Maheśvara — up to the palaces of ninety-nine billion hundred thousand celestial beings — along with seven-jeweled canopies, filling the ten directions with dense, vast clouds of offerings. The Buddha Śākyamuni, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, the Bright King of Pure Lotus, all the great bodhisattvas, the Vajradhara Lord of Secrets Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, and the entire great assembly — along with all the Buddha-lands in the ten directions, all Tathāgatas, all bodhisattva mahāsattvas, and all great assemblies — all manifested great supernatural powers and various miraculous transformations of accomplishment in the sky. All the secret heart mantras, dhāraṇīs, maṇḍalas, mudrās, and samayas of these Tathāgatas appeared simultaneously, and the palaces of all the gods in the ten directions also manifested at once.

爾時執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩從坐而起，合掌恭敬繞佛三匝，頭頂禮足，於一面立，熙怡微笑旋金剛杵，復白佛言：「世尊！覩斯神通極空顯現甚為廣大，如斯神通亦皆溥洽持真言者得大成就三昧耶門。復有一切天龍八部，緣此種族清淨蓮華明王神通顯現，皆來集會。覩彼觀世音菩薩摩訶薩、清淨蓮華明王神通威德，出過十方盡空顯炫。如斯變相以何法力，欻能十方作是顯現？惟願如來哀愍我等，當為解釋，除斷所疑。」爾時釋迦牟尼如來告執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩言：「諦聽諦聽，為汝解說。此大神通因緣現相，是彼觀世音菩薩摩訶薩大幻化三摩地門，金剛總持等持三摩地力勇猛支三摩地門，以如是等九十九俱胝那庾多百千三摩地門常隨於身，神通變現滿十方界。此等三摩地亦是不空羂索心王清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言大曼拏羅印三摩地力神通變現。示現如是神通威德廣大顯現三摩地力，當廣溥洽一切有情修是清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言名字法門，但令信解受持讀誦，當見九十二殑伽沙俱胝那庾多百千微塵如來應正等覺承事供養種種善根，等念此諸如來名號，等入此諸如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶會，亦等受持此諸如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶品，等入三世一切如來祕密心陀羅尼真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶成就之門。執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩！今何因緣說此清淨蓮華明王具大威力？所有三世一切如來祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印法品，皆隨入此明王法中，如水乳合同一體相更無別異。由斯因緣，說是清淨蓮華明王名號通入一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶，有大威德。若苾芻、苾芻尼、族姓男、族姓女，信解受持此清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言者，則等受持三世諸佛如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言壇印三昧耶，當得三世諸佛如來戒蘊定蘊慧蘊解脫蘊成熟善根，為於三世諸佛如來而常讚歎，與不空最大成就三昧耶悉地相應，得一切如來種族祕密平等三昧耶悉地相應，得一切菩薩摩訶薩神通真言明心大三摩地神變境界相應，得大菩提心六波羅蜜莊嚴相應，得一切真言明王大曼拏羅印三昧耶隨順相應。此清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言神通威德，又復常得一切如來神通三摩地加被，一切菩薩摩訶薩神通三摩地加被。以斯因故，說是清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言有大威德、有大神力。若有暫以華果塗香音聲供養讀誦處者，則當承事供養三世一切如來一切種族祕密心陀羅尼真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶。受持讀誦是清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言者，一切藥叉、羅剎、毘那夜迦作障難者盡皆馳散，一切諍論、災怪疫疾、憎謗諛諂、十惡五逆、一切業障盡皆消滅，一切諸佛菩薩摩訶薩眾安慰護念。執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩！十大執金剛藥叉將大自在執金剛藥叉將、一切天神、四天王神并諸眷屬恭敬守護，當得一切如來種族祕密心陀羅尼真言曼拏羅印三昧耶最勝成就，得不空解脫祕密心陀羅尼真言廣大解脫蓮華大曼拏羅印三昧耶最大成就，得不空真實最上成就，一切天、龍、藥叉、羅剎、乾闥婆、阿修羅、緊那羅、孽嚕茶、摩呼羅伽來守擁護。復於世間得大供養，一切願行增長圓滿，一切呪詛蠱毒、毒藥毒蟲、諸惡鬼神不相災惱。又復不患一切風痰、寒熱瘧病、瘡瘻疥癬、頭痛癰腫、痔痢諸病，唯除宿報現世輕受。執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩！此不空羂索心王清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言，名三世一切如來祕密心陀羅尼真言總持等持三昧耶，亦名一切執金剛祕密心神通溥遍總持等持三昧耶。」

> At that time, the Vajradhara Secret Lord Bodhisattva Mahasattva rose from his seat, pressed his palms together in reverence, circumambulated the Buddha three times, bowed his head at the Buddha's feet, and stood to one side. With a radiant smile, he twirled his vajra and addressed the Buddha: "World-Honored One! I have witnessed this manifestation of transcendental powers, vast and wondrous, appearing throughout all of space. Such miraculous displays equally pervade all who uphold mantras, granting them the great accomplishment of the samaya gateway. Furthermore, all the eight classes of celestial and dragon beings have gathered here because of this pure lotus Wisdom King's manifestation of divine powers. Having witnessed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva's pure lotus Wisdom King's transcendent might, which shines beyond all ten directions and illuminates all space, I ask: what spiritual power enables such transformations to appear throughout the ten directions? Please, Tathagata, in your compassion, explain this to remove our doubts and cut through our confusion." Then Shakyamuni Tathagata said to Vajradhara Secret Lord Bodhisattva Mahasattva: "Listen carefully, listen carefully. I shall explain for your sake. This great manifestation of transcendental powers arises from Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva's great illusion samadhi gateway, the vajra total-holding samadhi power, and the brave exertion samadhi gateway. These and ninety-nine koti-nayuta hundred-thousand samadhi gateways constantly accompany him, allowing his miraculous transformations to fill the ten directions. These samadhis also arise from the power of the Amogha-pasa Heart King's pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra, the great mandala seal samadhi, and its manifestations of spiritual power. This display of transcendent might and vast samadhi power is meant to broadly benefit all sentient beings who cultivate this pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra, its names, and its dharma gateways. Merely by faithfully understanding, upholding, reciting, and studying it, one will pay homage to and make offerings to ninety-two Ganges-sand koti-nayuta hundred-thousand dust-mote Tathagatas, perfectly awakened ones, cultivating various roots of goodness. One will equally recollect these Tathagatas' names, equally enter these Tathagatas' secret mind dharani mantra grand mandala seal samaya assemblies, equally uphold these Tathagatas' secret mind dharani mantra grand mandala seal samaya teachings, and equally enter the accomplishment gateways of all Tathagatas of the past, present, and future—their secret minds, dharanis, mantras, grand mandalas, seals, and samayas. Vajradhara Secret Lord Bodhisattva Mahasattva! Why is this pure lotus Wisdom King said to possess great power? All the secret mind dharani mantra mandala seal dharma methods of the Tathagatas of the three times enter into this Wisdom King's dharma, merging like water and milk into a single unified essence with no distinction. For this reason, this pure lotus Wisdom King is said to penetrate and unite all Tathagata lineages' secret mind dharani mantra mandala seal samayas, and to possess great majesty and power. If monks, nuns, laymen, or laywomen faithfully understand and uphold this pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra, they equally uphold the Tathagatas of the three times' secret mind dharani mantra mandala seal samayas. They will obtain the ethical aggregates, concentration aggregates, wisdom aggregates, and liberation aggregates of the Buddhas of the three times, maturing their roots of goodness. They will be constantly praised by the Tathagatas of the three times, and will correspond with the supreme accomplishment of the unfailing great samaya. They will correspond with the equal samaya accomplishments of all Tathagata lineages' secrets, attain correspondence with all Bodhisattva Mahasattvas' transcendental mantra mind great samadhi and miraculous transformation states, attain the great bodhi mind adorned with the six paramitas, and attain harmonious correspondence with all great mantra kings' grand mandala seal samayas. This pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra's transcendent power further ensures constant blessing and empowerment from all Tathagatas' transcendental samadhis and all Bodhisattva Mahasattvas' transcendental samadhis. For these reasons, this pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra is said to possess great majesty and great spiritual power. If one briefly makes offerings of flowers, fruits, incense, and music at a place where this mantra is recited, one thereby pays homage to and makes offerings to all Tathagatas of the three times and all their lineages' secret mind dharani mantra grand mandala seal samayas. For those who uphold and recite this pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra, all yakshas, rakshasas, and vighna-creating demons will flee far away. All disputes, calamities, epidemics, slander, flattery, the ten evil deeds, the five heinous offenses, and all karmic obstructions will be completely eradicated. All Buddhas and Bodhisattva Mahasattvas will comfort and protect them. Vajradhara Secret Lord Bodhisattva Mahasattva! The ten great vajra yaksha generals, the sovereign vajra yaksha general, all celestial deities, the four heavenly king deities, and their retinues will respectfully guard and protect them. They will attain the supreme accomplishment of all Tathagata lineages' secret mind dharani mantra mandala seal samayas, attain the great accomplishment of the unfailing liberation secret mind dharani mantra's vast liberation lotus grand mandala seal samaya, and attain the unfailing, true, supreme accomplishment. All devas, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, gandharvas, asuras, kinnaras, garudas, and mahoragas will come to guard and protect them. Moreover, they will receive great offerings in the world, all their wishes and practices will grow and reach fulfillment, and all curses, poisons, venomous insects, and malevolent spirits will not harm or disturb them. Furthermore, they will not suffer from wind disorders, phlegm conditions, fevers, malaria, sores, ulcers, scabies, headaches, swellings, hemorrhoids, dysentery, or other illnesses—except for karmic retributions from past lives that manifest lightly in the present. Vajradhara Secret Lord Bodhisattva Mahasattva! This Amogha-pasa Heart King's pure lotus Wisdom King Amkusa mantra is called the secret mind dharani mantra of all Tathagatas of the three times, the total-holding equal-holding samaya. It is also called the all-pervading total-holding equal-holding samaya of the secret minds and transcendental powers of all vajra holders."

爾時執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩聞佛稱說此妙吉祥祕密清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言神通功德，歡喜踊躍，前白佛言：「世尊！是清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言，奇特希有，具有一切菩提功德，能滿眾願成熟一切菩提善根，圓滿一切壇印三昧耶，無量功德最勝成就。世尊！此清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言，特希難見，如於如來所現方處坐菩提樹下轉大法輪。是清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言，豈不於彼觀世音菩薩摩訶薩白毫出現，當為利益持真言者得真解脫成就法門，非少善根得值見聞；已於無量阿僧祇劫一切佛所積集善根，乃得見聞恭敬供養信解書寫受持讀誦具足修治。若暫忘念是真言者，當知則失無量無邊一切菩提功德善根。何況一日一夜一月一年乃至多百千日而盡廢忘，應知此人則已永失十方三世諸佛菩薩摩訶薩一切菩提功德福蘊資糧善根大三昧耶。」爾時釋迦牟尼如來復謂執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩言：「如是如是，如汝所說。此之有情若不多劫供養承事九十九殑伽沙俱胝那庾多百千諸佛如來大曼拏羅印三昧耶積集善根，則不見聞此明王真言三昧耶受持讀誦。此之有情昔不積善，弗可見聞此明王真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶。復有有情，已於無量阿僧祇劫供養承事十方過現一切如來種族大曼拏羅印三昧耶甚深諸法，并復稟受聽聞修學積集善根，乃得具足見此明王真言種族大曼拏羅印三昧耶，受持讀誦明解一切，依持律行種種成就，則得作大阿闍梨，於諸真言者為最第一，得為三世一切如來曼拏羅印三昧耶中大法之子，三世一切如來為授記莂。當知斯人得大堅固成熟福聚善根資糧，應知得此明王真言大曼拏羅印三昧耶受持讀誦圓滿修治，一切佛剎菩提功德具足善根。執金剛祕密主菩薩摩訶薩！汝又觀彼觀世音菩薩摩訶薩廣大神變三摩地力、陀羅尼力、壇印法力、不空羂索心王清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言三摩地悉地威德示現之力，是一切如來心大神通力，圓滿一切菩提願行，是觀世音菩薩摩訶薩與一切願成就之處。如是明王真言，與於世間一切垢障尠福有情，作大佛事照破諸闇，為大津梁摧諸魔處，風雨以時苗稼滋盛，無諸饑饉惡星變怪，使受持者壽命長遠，無災夭疾多饒財寶。若有有情常潔身服，法瑜伽觀，以大悲心如法誦持清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言恒不間廢，即當成就一切善根。持此清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言之處，一切曼拏羅神一時湊集而守護之。一切種族真言壇印神宮殿俱時來集，供養清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言。一切如來種族觀世音種族、金剛種族摩尼種族等真言壇印宮殿神，俱時來作恭敬供養清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言，能令真言者獲七善夢：第一夢見得入曼拏羅宮殿會中受用三昧耶。第二夢見入一切諸佛菩薩種族曼拏羅宮殿三昧耶會，得諸如來為授灌頂真言印三昧耶成就。第三夢見入一切金剛灌頂曼拏羅印三昧耶會，得諸金剛王為授一切金剛灌頂真言印三昧耶成就。第四夢見入一切摩尼種族灌頂曼拏羅印三昧耶會，得諸摩尼寶王為授一切摩尼寶大灌頂真言印三昧耶成就。第五夢見入補陀洛山觀世音菩薩摩訶薩七寶宮殿大空羂索廣大解脫蓮華曼拏羅印三昧耶會，見一切諸佛菩薩摩訶薩、大明明王、一切天神，觀世音菩薩摩訶薩執手引入灌頂壇內而為灌頂，種種教詔諸真言曼拏羅印三昧耶品成就。第六夢見入千手千眼觀世音菩薩摩訶薩曼拏羅印三昧耶會，得千手千眼觀世音為授灌頂，曼拏羅印三昧耶成就。第七夢見如來菩提樹下坐金剛座，轉大法輪降伏魔軍。見毘盧遮那如來伸手摩頂，為授灌頂曼拏羅印三昧耶品，并見十方一切佛剎一切如來，為授種族真言壇印出世世間三昧耶品成就。若命終時心不失念，直往西方蓮華化生。為此不空大真言仙，常觀九十九億俱胝那庾多百千諸佛如來。是諸佛等，為現種種佛剎一切如來三身一體，皆等毘盧遮那佛身相好，得宿住智，能知過去百千大劫所受生死，一切如來神通威德灌頂真言印三摩地門盡皆現前，亦見過去所生積集福蘊善根清淨業成。今此明王真言，但常晝夜誦持不忘的獲如是諸大功德，并得一切眾生意樂恭敬法門。若淨澡浴著淨衣服，淨治室內香華供養，誦持清淨蓮華明王央俱捨真言恒不斷絕，當後夜時乃得過往十惡五逆四重諸罪一切業障一時現前，告真言者言：『往昔罪報應受五道種種劇苦，以真言力燼然銷滅，一切善根今已圓滿。』

「若患瘧病，當加持白線二十一結，病者繫佩即得除差。若鬼病神病，加持刀劍或加持孔雀尾或加持箭一七遍，病者身上拂𢷍加持則令除愈。或加持五色線一百八結，繫其項上，加持安悉香病者前燒。當加持病者，得作病鬼現身而來，所問皆說亦任役使，病則除差。若欲往向言論諍處令歡喜者，加持手一七遍摩捫面上，往見彼者歡喜和解。若毒藥中者，牛乳、石蜜和加持之，或加持淨水一七遍令飲毒除。若毒蟲螫者，加持孔雀尾一七遍拂之，并加持黃土泥或加持雄黃數數厚傅，或加持煮豆并汁，豆中蘸之皆得除滅。若被厭蠱呪詛蠱毒者，五日每日以新淨瓮滿盛香水，加持一百八遍，當洗浴身即得除差。若傅屍伏連少身力者，三設五設七設，每設長流河邊隨時塗壇，以白穀、稻穀、大麥、小麥、大豆、小豆、白芥子、茴香子、天門冬等分和末，加持水和猶如麵𪍒。先加持生酥遍身濃塗，乃以藥𪍒遍身厚附，却淨揩取捏作人形，加持鑌鐵刀截分八段，於壇四角四面置淨盆子，各于盆中盛一段藥。於壇中心置香水瓮，加持白芥子置於瓮中，以諸華枝葉插瓮口中。面東跪坐，加持水瓮一百八遍，及加持藥盆一百八遍，以八盆中藥段擘散，各擲當方。壇中香水溫與病者，清淨澡浴著新淨衣，以諸華香飲食供養觀世音菩薩，及諸眾僧設大施會，病者所苦當即除差，諸惡鬼神無能嬈害，亦令業障而得消滅。若命終後，即生西方淨妙剎土證宿命智，乃至菩提更不退墮諸惡趣故。若患眼者，加持甘草汁或加持供養殘水七一遍，當用洗眼即令除差。若患頭痛，以生酥、胡麻油、茴香子加持一七遍，微溫塗頭，當即除差。若患齒疼，加持石榴枝一七遍，當用揩齒，速令除差。若患耳疼，加持茴香子，胡麻油和煎二三十沸，濾去其滓，後當微溫瀝於耳中，當即除差。若患口瘡，加持蓽豆，菉豆煎汁和酥加持一七遍，含之經日當即除差。若患腹痛，加持仙陀婆鹽，作湯服，當除差。若加持烏鹽阿惹，而土青、木香等分，和水二大升煎取九合，加持二十一遍，當飲服之，一切腹痛心痛痃癖痔痲病等皆當除差。若加持白芥子二十一遍，散一切公門底者，一切僚佐見皆歡喜。若加持白胡椒一百八遍，口中含之，與他談說聞皆信受。若有惡風雹雨數數起者，加持石榴枝一百八遍，詣高望處四方擬之，即皆除散。若有龍湫邊作一火壇，以端直構木、櫁木然火，以酥蜜酪、白芥子一加持一燒一千八遍，如是相續至滿七日，則得天下溥降甘雨。若以稻穀華、白芥子、酥加持燒之一千八遍，滿於七日，當得財寶。若令訥瑟吒生信伏者，加持稻穀糠、鹽、黑芥子油燒，稱彼名字一千八遍，即得如願。若加持此所燒糠鹽灰二十一遍，散訥瑟吒門底者，即不安住。若加持白芥子一百八遍，散於軍陣鬪打處者，兵眾惡人兩俱和解。若加持雄黃令現煖煙相已，點心上額上者，即得祕密三昧耶，不為一切藥叉羅剎目視此人。若加持牛黃令現煖煙相已，點額上心上，往入一切山野窟澤無所障礙，及為人民恭敬供養。若為王公請者，用塗二手掌上，加持手七遍，至王公門叩門而入，所見人民悉皆歡喜愛敬供養。如是明王真言，所作諸法一切成就。」

> "If someone suffers from malaria, should recite mantras over a white thread tied with twenty-one knots, and when the patient wears it, the illness will be cured. For illnesses caused by ghosts or spirits, recite mantras over a sword, a peacock feather, or an arrow seven times, then brush the patient's body with it—this will bring recovery. Alternatively, recite mantras over a five-colored thread tied with one hundred and eight knots and place it around the patient's neck. Burn benzoin incense before the patient while reciting mantras over them. The ghost causing the illness will appear, answer all questions, and can even be commanded—then the illness will be cured. If you wish to go to a debate or dispute and want to be welcomed, recite mantras over your hand seven times and rub it on your face. Those you meet will be pleased and reconcile. For poisoning, mix cow's milk and rock sugar with mantras recited over it, or recite mantras over clean water seven times and have the patient drink it to remove the poison. For insect or snake bites, recite mantras over a peacock feather seven times and brush the area, or recite mantras over yellow clay or realgar and apply it thickly several times. Alternatively, recite mantras over boiled beans and their juice, and dip the affected area in it—all will be cured. For those afflicted by curses, spells, or sorcery, for five days, fill a new clean jar with scented water each day, recite mantras over it one hundred and eight times, and bathe in it—the affliction will be removed. For those weakened by contagious or hereditary diseases, set up three, five, or seven ritual sessions. By a flowing river, prepare an altar each time. Mix equal parts of white grain, rice, barley, wheat, soybeans, small beans, white mustard seeds, fennel seeds, and asparagus root into a powder. Recite mantras over water and mix it into a dough. First, recite mantras over fresh butter and coat the body thickly with it, then apply the herbal dough all over. Wipe it off, knead it into a human figure, and recite mantras over a steel knife to cut it into eight pieces. Place clean basins at the four corners and four sides of the altar, putting one piece in each basin. At the center, place a jar of scented water, recite mantras over white mustard seeds, and put them in the jar. Insert flower branches and leaves into the jar's mouth. Facing east, kneel and recite mantras over the water jar one hundred and eight times, as well as over the herb basins one hundred and eight times. Break apart the eight herb pieces and throw each in its respective direction. Warm the scented water from the altar for the patient to bathe in, then dress them in clean new clothes. Offer flowers, incense, and food to Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Sangha, and hold a great giving ceremony. The patient's suffering will immediately cease, no evil spirits can harm them, and their karmic obstructions will be dissolved. After death, they will be reborn in the Western Pure Land, gain past-life recall, and never fall back into the lower realms until enlightenment. For eye problems, recite mantras over licorice juice or leftover offering water seven times and use it to wash the eyes—this will cure them. For headaches, recite mantras over fresh butter, sesame oil, and fennel seeds seven times, warm it slightly, and apply to the head—relief will come at once. For toothaches, recite mantras over a pomegranate branch seven times and use it to brush the teeth—it will quickly heal. For ear pain, recite mantras over fennel seeds mixed with sesame oil, boil for twenty to thirty bubbles, strain out the dregs, and when slightly warm, drip it into the ear—relief will follow. For mouth sores, recite mantras over a decoction of beans and mung beans mixed with butter seven times, hold it in the mouth for a day, and it will heal. For abdominal pain, recite mantras over salt, make a warm drink, and take it—it will cure. Or recite mantras over a mixture of black salt, earth, and costus root in equal parts, boiled in two large cups of water down to nine tenths, reciting mantras twenty-one times, and drink it—all abdominal pain, heart pain, tumors, hemorrhoids, and leprosy will be cured. Recite mantras over white mustard seeds twenty-one times and scatter them at the entrance of any government office—all officials who see you will be pleased. Recite mantras over white pepper one hundred and eight times, hold it in the mouth while speaking—listeners will believe and accept your words. If violent winds, hail, or storms repeatedly arise, recite mantras over a pomegranate branch one hundred and eight times, go to a high vantage point, and gesture to the four directions—they will disperse. If there is a drought, by a dragon pool build a fire altar with straight wood and camphor wood. Recite mantras over butter, honey, curd, and white mustard seeds, offering each to the fire one thousand eight times, continuing for seven days—then rain will fall across the land. If you offer rice flowers, white mustard seeds, and butter to the fire with mantras one thousand eight times for seven days, you will gain wealth. To make a hostile person submit, recite mantras over rice husks, salt, and black mustard oil, burn them while naming that person one thousand eight times—your wish will be fulfilled. Recite mantras over the ashes of these burnt husks and salt twenty-one times and scatter them at the hostile person's doorstep—they will not stay. Recite mantras over white mustard seeds one hundred and eight times and scatter them at a battlefield or fight—both sides will reconcile. Recite mantras over realgar until it shows a warm smoky appearance, then dot it on the heart and forehead—you will attain the secret samaya, and no yaksha or rakshasa will even look at you. Recite mantras over ox bezoar until it shows a warm smoky appearance, then dot it on the forehead and heart—you may enter any mountain, wilderness, cave, or marsh without obstruction, and people will respect and offer to you. If invited by a noble, apply it to both palms, recite mantras over the hands seven times, knock on the noble's door, and enter—all who see you will be delighted, loving, respectful, and generous. Thus, all practices with this Wisdom King's mantra will succeed completely."
