The General Meaning of the Thirty-Nine Chapters of the Avatamsaka Sutra was respectfully compiled by the Qing Dynasty Master Yongguang. It is a distillation and summary of the core ideas of the *Avatamsaka Sutra*. As an important Mahayana Buddhist scripture, the *Avatamsaka Sutra* originated in India between the 2nd and 4th centuries CE. It elucidates the philosophy of the dependent origination of the Dharma Realm and the interpenetration of all phenomena, emphasizing the practice of the Bodhisattva path and the perfect state of Buddhahood. Master Yongguang's compilation condenses the essence of the sutra's thirty-nine chapters, making it easier for practitioners to grasp the main principles of the entire scripture. This sutra is revered as the "king of sutras." It played a foundational role in the formation and development of the Huayan school in China, holds an extremely high position in Chinese Buddhism, and has had a profound and lasting influence.
