### 金剛經實有法發菩提心說

> Diamond Sutra on Generating Bodhicitta

金剛經。圓明五眼。洞徹三心。一段。乃解上文實無有法發菩提心者之義。謂眾生所以為眾主者。為有妄心故也。三心既不可得。眾生豈復可得眾生不可得。誰為能發之人。三心不可得。何為所發之心。故曰實無有法發菩提心者。又妄心不可得。則全妄即真。眾生不可得。則全生即佛。果見到全妄即真全生即佛。是為不發而發。稱性開發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。如此發心。何更有法可得。故曰實無有法發菩提心者。

> \*\*The Diamond Sutra: Perfect Clarity of the Five Eyes and Thorough Understanding of the Three Minds\*\* This passage explains the preceding line: "In truth, there is no fixed method by which one can arouse the mind of Enlightenment." Why do sentient beings exist as such? It is because of their deluded minds. Since the three minds (past, present, future) are fundamentally ungraspable, how can we truly speak of "sentient beings"? And if sentient beings are not ultimately real, then who is the one who arouses the mind? Since the three minds cannot be grasped, what exactly is the "mind" that is aroused? Therefore, it is said: "In truth, there is no fixed method by which one can arouse the mind of Enlightenment." Furthermore, when the deluded mind is seen as ungraspable, then all delusion is itself reality. When sentient beings are seen as ungraspable, then all beings are themselves the Buddha. When you truly realize that all delusion is reality and that all beings are Buddha, this is called "arousing without arousing." It is the genuine opening up of the mind of supreme, perfect Enlightenment, in accordance with your true nature. When such a mind is aroused, what method could there be to obtain? Therefore, it is said: "In truth, there is no fixed method by which one can arouse the mind of Enlightenment."
