### 二有室䟦

> The Twofold Existence

經云。從是西方過十萬億佛土。有世界名曰極樂。其土有佛。號阿彌陀。今現在說法。此金口誠言。分明指示。而世之昧者。猶謬執唯心。橫生異議。可悲也。因特書此以名余室。用警省焉。

> The sutra says: "Passing from here through a hundred thousand kotis of Buddha-lands to the west, there is a world called Ultimate Bliss. In that land there is a Buddha named Amitabha, who is presently teaching the Dharma." These are the true words spoken by the golden mouth of the Buddha himself, clearly pointing the way. Yet those who are deluded in this world stubbornly cling to the concept of "mind-only," wrongly raising differing opinions—how truly lamentable! Therefore, I have specially written this to name my room, as a reminder and a warning to myself.

余以二有名室。或者淺之。吁。是尚不知即空之有。有而非有。況復雙泯雙存。超四句。該四句。圓教有門之有。與夫性具本有之有耶。其謂之淺也宜矣。無庸辯。

> I named this room "Two Kinds of Existence." Some may dismiss it as superficial. Oh, they fail to realize that existence, being intrinsically empty, is existence yet not existence. How much less do they understand the simultaneous negation and affirmation of both, transcending the four propositions yet encompassing them—the existence of the Perfect Teaching's "existence gate," and the existence inherent in original nature itself? That they call it superficial is only natural. There is no need for debate.
