Close your dog's mouth; break the donkey's back. One word: Amitabha — a ready-made kōan. Just set your resolved mind — it will never cheat you. One word: Amitabha — perfect for burying alive. Snap the bamboo staff; burn the straw sandals. One word: Amitabha — dead but not yet cremated. The Buddha made a promise; no need to summon Heaven. The entire body is densely connected; eight sides are exquisitely clear. One word: Amitabha — the word with three dots. Awaken the broken earthen bowl as the true Dharma-eye. One word: Amitabha — endless afflictions roll into one mass; cast your whole body upon it. One word: Amitabha — immeasurable Dharma gates. Maitreya's tower; Wuling's Peach Blossom Spring. One word: Amitabha — unsurpassed Buddhahood. "Not allowed to travel by night; you must arrive by dawn." One word: Amitabha — and it's not even Buddha. The Land of Still Light has form; Buddha-nature is impermanent. One word: Amitabha — everyone knows it exists. From east to west, step forward and bow with folded hands. 信佛語故。則造後四。不信佛語。但造前四。故深信佛言。即深信自心也。修淨業者。能具此十種信心。其樂土之生。如操左券而取故物。夫何難之有。

> Because you trust the Buddha’s words, you create the last four \[forms of faith\]. If you do not trust the Buddha’s words, you only create the first four. Therefore, to deeply trust the Buddha’s words is to deeply trust your own mind. For those who cultivate pure karma: if they can fully possess these ten kinds of faith, then rebirth in the Land of Bliss is as certain as reclaiming something they once held with a written guarantee. What difficulty could there be?
