### 示尼無瑕

> Showing Nuns Without Flaw

昔大慧和尚會中。玅聰禪人。幼年打硬修行。曾在徑山度夏。一日大慧上堂。舉石頭示藥山。恁麼也不得。不恁麼也不得。恁麼不恁麼總不得。妙總於此有省。大慧舉岩頭打渡逢婆子話詰之。妙總頌云。一葉扁舟泛渺茫。呈橈舞棹別宮商。雲山海月俱拋却。嬴得莊周蝶夢長。看他得底人。著著自有出身之路。豈肯死於語下乎。靖山禪士。孜孜為道。遠扣峰頂。袖紙乞語。況余藏拙深雲。初未曾與人道個不字。憫其情切。因書妙總見大慧因緣。果能如實而參到大安樂之地。雖百千妙總。亦在下風矣。就書一偈以勉。清標不讓末山尼。純淨無瑕亦未奇。噴地一聲真慶快。英雄真個丈夫兒。

> A long time ago, at the assembly of Venerable Dahui, a young practitioner named Miaocong Chanren had been training with great determination since childhood. He once spent the summer retreat at Jingshan. One day, Dahui gave a Dharma talk, citing the story of Shitou instructing Yaoshan: "It's not right to say it's like that; it's not right to say it's not like that; it's also not right to say it's either like that or not like that." Miaocong realized enlightenment at that very moment. Dahui then tested him with the story of Yantou beating the old ferrywoman, and Miaocong presented this verse: "A single-leaf boat floats on the vast waters; Wielding oars and dancing poles, a melody distinct from the court tunes. Clouds, mountains, sea, and moon are all cast away; What remains is Zhuangzi's long dream of the butterfly." Look at those who have truly realized—every move they make shows a way out. How could they ever be trapped by words? Chan practitioner Jingshan, earnest in his pursuit of the Way, traveled far to knock on this hermit's door, sleeves full of paper, seeking guidance. But I, hiding my ignorance in deep clouds, have never said "no" to anyone from the beginning. Moved by his sincerity, I recorded the story of Miaocong's meeting with Dahui. If one can truly penetrate it and reach the great place of peace and joy, then even a hundred thousand Miaocongs would be surpassed. I also write a verse to encourage: "Your noble character rivals that of Nun Moshan, Pure and flawless—though that's nothing unusual. When the 'bang' suddenly erupts—what true joy! Such a hero is indeed a real man."
