### 演念法師鳴尺舉揚

> Perform Chanting<note>Monk strikes meditation stick to open</note>

盖聞西方教主。接引導師。號曰同名。壽稱無量。紺目澄清四大海。白豪宛轉五須彌。恩極無涯。玅深莫測。化見瑠璃苑囿。莊嚴碼碯堦墀。六時行道寶林間。九品標名金沼內。水鳥樹林能說法。迦陵頻伽共談禪。寶欄寶網影玲瓏。寶座寶幢光燦爛。幸我佛願弘六八。慈濟三塗。塵塵涉入度眾生。處處圓融超萬類。顯不空真空之理。開玅有非有之門。感觀音救苦尋聲。荷勢至多方濟拔。念某等。罪根深固。障重瀰漫。結煩惱以為儔。染塵緣而作種。內宗不悟。外見縈纏。利欲情深。貪饕意闊。忘却本源覺藏。難趨淨土道場。集四眾以熏修。啟三時而禮念。萬聲異口。一念同音。奪志尋源。稱揚寶號。

> I have heard that the Lord of the Western Pure Land, the Guide who welcomes and leads beings, is known by the name "Amitabha," and his lifespan is called "Infinite." His azure eyes are vast as four great seas, and his white hair-knot swirls like five Sumeru mountains. His kindness is boundless, his mystery profound and unfathomable. He manifests gardens of lapis lazuli and terraces adorned with coral. Throughout the six periods of the day, beings walk the path within jeweled forests, and among the golden lotus ponds, all are graded into nine levels. Water, birds, and trees all expound the Dharma, and the kalavinka birds together discuss meditation. Jeweled railings and nets cast shimmering shadows, while jeweled thrones and canopies shine with radiant light. Fortunately, our Buddha’s vows, forty-eight in number, are vast, and his compassion saves beings in the three evil realms. Subtle as dust, he enters all things to aid sentient beings; everywhere he perfects harmony, transcending all categories. He reveals the truth of non-emptiness and emptiness, and opens the door to the wonderful existence that is not existence. Moved by the cries of beings, Avalokiteshvara responds in every sound; Mahasthamaprapta offers rescue through countless means. Now, we, <note>certain beings</note>, have deep-rooted sins and heavy, pervasive obstacles. We have befriended afflictions and planted seeds in the dust of worldly conditions. Our inner essence remains unawakened, while we are entangled by external views. Our desires and cravings run deep, our greed knows no bounds. We have forgotten the original treasure of awareness and struggle to reach the pure land’s field of practice. Thus, we gather the fourfold assembly for purification and practice, initiating three periods of recitation and mindfulness. With ten thousand voices in harmony, we unite as one mind. We fix our determination to trace the source, and we chant the precious name.
