The Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Danxia Zichun was compiled by the Song Dynasty Caodong school master Danxia Zichun and edited by his dharma heir Qing Yu. This work collects Master Zichun's teachings, including his instructions to assemblies, hall addresses, minor gatherings, verses on old cases, and gathas, centrally embodying his Chan thought and style of guiding students. Inheriting the lineage of Furong Daokai, Master Zichun deepened the practice and theory of the Caodong school's Silent Illumination Chan, emphasizing the resting of body and mind and the return to original awareness. This recorded sayings is an important text for studying the Chan style and thought of the Song Dynasty Caodong school, exerting a profound influence on the later development of Chan Buddhism and holding significant value in Buddhist philosophy and history.
