### 次韻答前開原愚仲和尚

> Reply in Verse to Former Kaiyuan Monk Yuzhong

橫陳一榻古禪宮。高致超他五髻峰。拄杖欲拈機盡喪。伽陀纔出義俱空。舟航苦海長迷客。橐籥曹溪欲墜宗。禪不在譚那有病。舌長應笑老黃龍。

> A meditation couch lies across the ancient Chan hall, Its lofty grace surpassing the Five-Peak Mountain. Lifting the staff, the mechanism is utterly lost; The gatha just uttered, its meaning too is void. A vessel crossing the sea of suffering, carrying the long-deluded, Bellows of Caoxi, reviving a lineage about to fall. Chan is not in words—how could there be a flaw? A long tongue should laugh at old Huanglong.
