### 血書法華經

> Blood-Written Lotus Sutra

是真精進。是名真法供養如來。中吳清信士顧福敬。誓誦妙法華一萬部。復刺指血。書寫此經。且道。是是真精進。非是真精進。是是名真法。非是名真法。須知真精進真法。在未啟口。未舉筆之先。洞然明白。靈山一會。儼然未散。若向聲音字畫求之。󳬧子已過新羅矣。蘧菴一雨一菴諸尊宿。聲偈以讚。在于別卷。盡是畫蛇添足。徑山恁麼批判。在裏許不在裏許也。是洋瀾左蠡。

> This is true diligent practice. This is what is called true offering of the Dharma to the Tathāgata. Gu Fu, a faithful layman from Zhongwu, made a vow to recite the Wonderful Dharma Lotus Sūtra ten thousand times. He further pricked his finger to draw blood and wrote out this sūtra. Now tell me: Is this true diligent practice or not? Is this what is called true Dharma or not? You must know that true diligent practice and true Dharma are already perfectly clear before the mouth opens, before the brush is lifted. The assembly at Vulture Peak has never actually dispersed. If you seek it in sounds, words, or brushstrokes, the cat has already crossed over to Silla. The venerable masters Qu'an, Yiyu, and Yi'an all composed verses in praise, gathered in a separate scroll—all of it is drawing legs on a snake. As for my criticism here, is it within or without? It is merely the waves of the vast lake.
