> Chapter 63

爲无爲 事无事 味无味

> Do not act for the sake of acting, do not busy yourself for the sake of busyness, do not savor for the sake of savoring.

大小多少 報怨以德

> Great and small, many and few — repay resentment with virtue.

圖難乎亓易也 爲大乎亓細也 天下之難作於易 天下之大作於細

> Handle what is difficult while it is still easy; accomplish what is great while it is still small. All difficulties in the world arise from what is easy, and all great things arise from what is small.

是以聖人終不爲大 故能成亓大

> Therefore the sage never strives for greatness, and so is able to accomplish great things.

夫輕諾必寡信 多易必多難

> Those who make promises lightly are sure to lack trustworthiness; those who see many things as easy are sure to face many difficulties.

是以聖人猶難之 故終於无難

> Therefore, even the sage treats things as difficulties. That is why, in the end, he encounters no difficulties.
