### 菩提道場第十五

> Bodhimanda, Chapter 15

「又其道場有菩提樹，高四百萬里，其本周圍五千由旬，枝葉四布二十萬里，一切眾寶自然合成，華果敷榮，光暉徧照。復有紅綠青白諸摩尼寶，眾寶之王以為瓔珞，雲聚寶鏁飾諸寶柱。金珠鈴鐸周匝條間，珍妙寶網羅覆其上，百千萬色互相映飾，無量光炎照耀無極，一切莊嚴隨應而現。微風徐動吹諸枝葉，演出無量妙法音聲，其聲流布徧諸佛國，清暢哀亮、微妙和雅，十方世界音聲之中最為第一。若有眾生，覩菩提樹、聞聲、齅香、嘗其果味、觸其光影、念樹功德，皆得六根清徹、無諸惱患，住不退轉至成佛道。復由見彼樹故，獲三種忍：一音響忍、二柔順忍、三者無生法忍。」佛告阿難：「如是佛剎華果樹木，與諸眾生而作佛事。此皆無量壽佛威神力故、本願力故、滿足願故、明了堅固究竟願故。」

> "Moreover, in that place of awakening there stands a Bodhi tree, four million li in height. Its trunk measures five thousand yojanas around, and its branches and leaves spread out in all directions for two hundred thousand li. It is naturally formed from all kinds of precious treasures, with blossoms and fruits flourishing in abundance, their radiance illuminating everything around. Red, green, blue, and white mani gems—the kings of all treasures—adorn it as garlands, while cloud-like jeweled chains decorate its various pillars. Gold and pearl bells hang tinkling among the branches, and a fine net of wondrous gems is spread over the top, with hundreds of thousands of colors reflecting and enhancing one another. Countless beams of light blaze without limit, and every kind of ornament appears spontaneously as conditions require. A gentle breeze stirs the branches and leaves, producing countless exquisite sounds of the Dharma. These sounds flow forth and spread throughout all Buddha lands—clear, resonant, sorrow-releasing, and sublime, harmonious and elegant. Among all the sounds in the ten directions, these are the most supreme. If any living being beholds this Bodhi tree, hears its sounds, smells its fragrance, tastes its fruits, touches its light and shadows, or recalls its merits, they will attain purity and clarity in all six sense faculties, free from every affliction and distress. They will dwell in the stage of non-retrogression until they achieve Buddhahood. Furthermore, by seeing this tree, they obtain three kinds of patience: first, the patience of responding to sounds; second, the patience of yielding compliance; and third, the patience of realizing the unborn nature of all phenomena." The Buddha told Ananda, "Thus do the flowers, fruits, trees, and groves of this Buddha land carry out the work of the Buddha for the sake of all beings. All this is due to the awe-inspiring power of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life, the power of his original vows, the power of his fulfilled vows, and the power of his vow that is clear, firm, and ultimate."
