> Chongjue Temple was built on the former estate of the Grand Tutor, Qinghe Prince Pei Yi. It is located one li outside the Ximing Gate, to the north of the imperial road. The temple was built to honor Pei Yi's ancestors, with a five-story pagoda, constructed similarly to the Yaoguang Temple. Xuanzhong Temple was established by the Governor of Sizhou, Yangcheng Prince Hui Wei. It is located one li outside the Xiyang Gate, to the south of the imperial road. East of Xuanzhong Temple is Wangdianyu Temple, built by the eunuch Wang Taotang. The temple has a three-story pagoda. White Horse Temple was founded by Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty. It marks the very beginning of Buddhism's introduction to China. The temple is located three li outside the Xiyang Gate, to the south of the imperial road. In front of the pagoda, there is a grove of crabapple trees and grapevines, which are different from others: the branches and leaves are lush, and the fruits are very large. Guangbao Temple is located outside the Xiyang Gate, to the north of the imperial road. At the end of the Putai era (532 AD), the Governor of Yongzhou, Longxi Prince Erzhu Tianguang, assembled his troops at this temple. Fayun Temple was built by the foreign monk Dharmakshema from the Kingdom of Wushang in the Western Regions. It is located west of Guangbao Temple, separated only by a wall and a shared gate. North of the temple is the residence of the Attendant-in-Waiting and Chief Minister of the Imperial Secretariat, Linhuai Prince Yu Yu. Outside the Xiyang Gate, four li out, to the south of the imperial road, lies the great market of Luoyang. Southeast of the market is the Imperial Daughter's Terrace. Southwest of the terrace is Heyang County. Inside the terrace is the residence of Attendant-in-Waiting Hou Gang. Northwest of the market is an earthen hill and a fish pond. Southeast of the market are two lanes: the Tongsheng lane and the Dahuo lane. South of the market are two lanes: the Diaoyin lane and the Xianglyu lane. West of the market are two lanes: the Tuigu lane and the Zhishang lane. North of the market are two lanes: the Cixiao lane and the Fengzhong lane. Additionally, there are two lanes: the Zhuncai lane and the Jinsi lane. Wealthy people live there. Inside the Zhuncai lane is Kaimingshan Temple, which was originally the residence of Wei Ying, a man from Jingzhao. West of Tuigu lane to Zhangfang Ditch, bordered by the Luo River in the south and reaching Mang Mountain in the north, the area extends two li east to west and fifteen li north to south. This entire area is called Shouqi Village, where the imperial clan lives. Common people call it "Prince's Quarter." Zhuiguang Temple was the residence of the Attendant-in-Waiting and Chief Minister of the Imperial Secretariat, Dongping Prince Yüeh. Rongjue Temple was built by Qinghe Prince Pei Yi. It is located outside the Changhe Gate, to the south of the imperial road. It has a five-story pagoda, equal in stature to Chongjue Temple. The Buddha hall and monks' quarters fill an entire lane. Dajue Temple was built on the former estate of Guangping Prince Pei Huai. It is located about one li west of Rongjue Temple. During the Yongxi era (532 AD), when the Prince of Pingyang ascended the throne, a brick pagoda was built here. Yongming Temple was founded by Emperor Xuanwu. It is located east of Dajue Temple. West of the temple is the Yiniu Lane. Inside this lane are the residences of Prince Chenliu, Jinghao, and Attendant-in-Waiting and Duke of Anding, Hu Yuanji. Outside the Changhe Gate, seven li out, there is the Long Branch Bridge. West of the Long Branch Bridge is the Thousand Gold Dam.
